What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Good Morning and yes it's Friday-Eve... I think. JB- so sorry to hear about the uncertainty your work plans but I have a feeling they wouldn't want you all back if your numbers are climbing. My heart hearts for all those in situations you described. I know you'll find just the right thing to brighten her day.
Accountability: I had a turkey/cheese roll up in the evening but I say that's good since I didn't go the nuts or toffee route.
QOTD: One thing that sticks out is when I was at my annual eye check up and the dr asked if I was seeing my PCP for diabetes?!? I was prediabetic but I guess there are indicators in the blood vessels in our eyes. That really scare me.
TSS: 5 years 8 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters and turkey sausage links
L: Albacore lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: Breakfast wrap and carbmaster yogurt
D: TJ Chile lime chicken burger on cloud bread bun, green beans, sliced fruit, and 2 squares dark
ES: Low carb pita with cream cheese and SF jam, Homemade Greek yogurt with SF syrup and cup fiber cereal
E: 8 mile run and 40 mins elliptical. Thanks for all the well wishes on my knee. I ran today, a little slower and it hurt a bit (only at the start) so I'm currently elevating it with an ice pack on it.
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals: 1534 Protein:143 Carbs:118 Fat:68
Have a great one!
I forgot that one! I also received the prediabetic diagnosis and realized I had to do something.

Good morning,
It's really weird, some days are good back days and others are terrible. Yesterday ended up being a bad back day, but today feels like it is starting out pretty well. My Orthopedic surgeon wants to do an MRI and I have no idea how I'm going to lay on my back for 30 minutes while holding still. I have to talk to them today, not sure Valium will be enough (their proposal so far).
I ate a little more than planned (including 3 Risens candies), but the good news is that I tucked in under 186 this morning. So thankfully, the weight keeps tracking down. I was on a conference call yesterday and while they were setting up everyone was telling how much they gained. When it came to me I was - well, I had to tell them I down 7 since they closed the office (now 8).
QOTD - One time my back went out and I couldn't walk the 7 feet from my bed to the bathroom. Thankfully the chiro made a very expensive house-call. Keep in mind I'm not stating the obvious issues for me at 510+ pounds. There were times I had to stop on the way into work from the parking space 9 times (it was the world's shortest walk). It got so bad that I had to have my wife drive me some days so I didn't have to walk the extra 50 yards.
Exercise - worked out with the trainer virtually this morning. It was tough - my fault for having a punching back at home. She had me doing all kinds of kicks into the bag.
PWO - 1/4 of protein bar
B - 1 egg, 2 oz ham
S - 1/4 protein bar
L - Spiralized veg spaghetti with chicken burger meat, mandarins
D - The other half of last nights dinner - half Prairie Grass burger and beet salad
S - Apple and nut butter

Hmmm I would say anytime I just wanted to dance and have fun but was so scared of opinions. Scared to be me. At my cousins wedding in job I had 1 glass of wine and was partying with my little cousins making my sister and mom get out and dance .'it was sooooo fun.
so I've been focusing on eating without logging and measuring everything the last 3 weeks. Stable weight on scale - calming my head
food plan today is a little wonky since we were planning on driving back to GA but there are supposed to be thunderstorms and DH is really sore from shots yesterday.
b: cauli protein pancakes
l: leftover roasted wings?

G'morning all!
Two words! Dalgona coffee! Trish posted yesterday about making it with substitute sugar, and Kelly sent me the recipe. So I went ahead and made it yesterday afternoon. I'm used to coffee, I've had espresso since I was 7-8 yrs old. But I think this combo - 2 tbsp of coffee for the whipped part on top of a full glass of cold coffee was just a little bit too much. I sent a text to my trainer to see if she wanted to go for a run together! Her response was "are you drunk?" Her average slow mileage is about 7 min mile while my fastest is like 10-11 min mile. Needless to say I was jumping out of my skin! It's yum but don't put coffee on top of coffee.
With WW I had to really shift gears in my head for carbs. So many good vegetables are zero pts on WW but heck of a lot of carbs. My lunch yesterday was TJ's shrimp stir fry. I used to love it but had stayed away from it due to the amount of veggies and not enough protein. Yesterday when I logged it into MFP I almost had a heart attack. 15 gr of carb in one meal! Except for when I veer off and have some scone(!) I hardly have anything with that much carb in one sitting. But I told myself it will be OK and we are trying things out for 3 months.
QOTD: not to brag but according to my PCP I was the healthiest morbidly obese person she knew. I always exercised so stairs or walking was not a problem. But I remember I was trying to get the car out of a very tight parking spot and it needed a good 7-8 maneuvers to get out. The car was my SIL's and my niece was sitting next to me. I was sweating profusely and my niece very matter of fact said "auntie, you are sweating so much. Is it because you are so big?" I think I died of embarrassment in that moment. I had been so used to big SUV cars in the US that when home and in a smaller car it was hard for me to sit comfortably.
My meals yesterday:
- B: Protein coffee
- S1: hb egg
- L: TJ's shrimp stir fry
- S2: Dolgano coffee
- D: Costco chicken skewers + 2 egg thin wraps + avocado salsa
- E: 25 min cardio (elliptical) + 50 min strength training
Happy Thursday!

I was trying to avoid the extra calories of milk, that's why I went with cold coffee. Never again. It's good though, very yum.

I know some people track on MFP and WW - I think it is tough to make the shift that way. I have been tracking via WW only and have added back tons of fruits and veggies I had avoided previously. I have lost the weight and been much more satisfied with my food.

It is funny that Sheila mentioned this as I started to track in Carb Manager and WW and quickly stopped as I was panicking at the choices.

Yeah it took me a couple weeks to fully stop posting on both and just switch to WW but MFP was what I used for post op and Keto and I just couldn't get used to seeing the higher carb counts and not freak out. I was sad to lose my 4 year streak on MFP, but now I have a new streak going on WW. I've already gotten to 1500 goals, twice!
