What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
The news from Massachusetts is very sobering. So is what has happened in the meat and poultry industries. And then we have governors like the local one here starting to open up their states prematurely. Just overwhelming to think about.
QOTD: So many unhealthy pre-op moments: Not being able to climb the stairs at work without resting, sweating like crazy through a show at a theatre where DH took me for my birthday, my back and feet killing me during and after a beach walk, lying in bed wondering when I was going to have a heart attack.
TSS: 4 years
B: Coffee! WW zero point pancake
L: Sliced Ever Roast chicken and laughing cow cheese
D: Salmon burger and veggies, I think...
S: bean salad, blueberry lemon pie and/or yogurt with strawberry compote and/or WW one point blueberry muffin

I hope you can come back to MA soon, Liz. It's bad here for sure, but I think the state is taking it very seriously as a whole and no one, especially the government, are eager to open things back up prematurely. I think we will have a rough start (as we are now) but end up in a better place the the states that are reopening to peer pressure and not science.

I do trust the decision making process in Massachusetts more than Florida. I am scheduled for 5/14 (3 weeks from today) and SIL changed her flight from 4/30 to 5/14 as well. Unless something drastic happens (like a cancelled flight), I expect we will go ahead with our plans.

I think my in-laws are headed back to Mass. at about the same time.
Despite all of the craziness, we still have our rental in Venice for next winter.

Venice Florida for next winter (pretty close to Liz), but I also loved Venice Italy.

Funny, I knew there was a Naples Florida but did not realize there was also a Venice!

Good morning JB and Menu folks. Meme above was posted this morning by a Dr I follow on FB , she is from Albany Ny and is very well connected in NYS. She is active and her messages are clear and calming. I think this speaks volumes, she has many physician friends in NYC and has consistently posted that this virus is like nothing the medical world has ever seen. For those of you with FB, look her up - Dr. Gloria Guptill.
QOTD - I got to the point where I ignored all functions, I felt like everyone was looking at me, the biggest guy in the room. I also feared fitting into booths at restaurants and had fear that chairs would collapse underneath me. I was so unhappy. WLS was the best decision I have made.
Accountability - WW is going very well, 3 lbs lost since Monday. 2.2 lost since I started WW. It will take me time to adjust as I was doing Keto for 8+ months so I need to change gears. Tonight we need to take a run to my Parents place in VT, does anyone have ideas for a WW friendly quick bite to go? Subway?

Thanks for that meme--really excellent. I really don't know why Americans are distrustful of truth anymore.
Sorry no suggestions on WW off the top of my head--I have been in isolation for most of the time I've been on it so I haven't had to brave restaurant eating! But I have spent a lot of time looking up WW recipes on Pinterest and have come across a bunch of pages on the internet that list out the points for every single menu item at every Fast Food restaurant!
But I think the best thing to remember (and this is so so so different from Keto), is that you could splurge and have a 30 point dinner if you eat zero point foods for the rest of the day. Obviously you wouldn't want to make a habit of it, but if you had lean proteins, fruits and veggies all day at zero points, you could go for the Big Mac and still be within range. I had been annoyed with Oprah's commercials where she yells "you want to eat chips? you can eat chips!" but I get her point now... you can.
