Sometimes I will pass on the elevator, but I love to ride on escalators. At work we are 60 floors up , so everybody rides. And I have the same fears of those locking stairwells.

People are lazy by nature, nobody thinks twice about taking the elevator. The opposite is true, I've been asked why I was taking the stairs and if there was a problem with the elevator.

That's interesting to me because it's not like that here. People are very health and fitness conscious and our elevator in our building is not highly used.

This all brings up the public restroom that I have a hard time with. As an obese person I would always use the handicaps stall because I truly didn't fit in the small ones especially if the door opened to the inside and you had to get around it to close it. So to this day I find myself using the handicap stall. People look at me funny but in my mind I still don't fit in that little stall.

if it's hurting your hip to climb the stairs, I'd do the elevator. If people question it (and they won't!), you have an excuse - you had a hip injury. If you're in pain, there's a chance you could be causing further damage to it. I personally would take the elevator in that case if it was me..

I totally agree. I do what is comfortable and healthy. What others may or may not think is fortunately their business.

Good morning all! I was gonna skip my workout yesterday because my neck was so sore, but I pushed through the pain and worked out anyway. I always feel so guilty when I don?t work out and I wanted to avoid that feeling. The last couple nights my sleep has been crap because I just can?t get comfortable without my neck bothering me. Will be sooo glad when it finally gets better! My accountability wasn?t horrible yesterday....not perfect, but not horrible. Still need to watch my mindless snacking.

Speaking of this virus, I just found out yesterday that a friend of mine is in the hospital with it. Early last week he wasn?t feeling well, but then felt better and now he?s in the hospital. Been there since last Friday. So scary! More and more people I know are getting sick and yet my state is talking of opening things back up. They have already opened up retail stores and are talking of reopening beaches. Although they did say that schools are closed for the rest of the year.

QOTD: I can think of several occasions, but the two that stand out in my mind the most was the time I had a job interview. I had to walk a good ways to get to the building so I left extra early because I knew I would need to make a lot of rest stops. I also had to walk up a flight up stairs so by the time I actually made it to the interview destination I was a huffing and puffing sweaty mess! I was so embarrassed...so much so that I couldn?t even focus on the interview questions. Needless to say I didn?t get that job. The other occasion was when I was out to dinner with friends and we were seated at a booth and I couldn?t fit. Talk about embarrassment! I was mortified!

The restaurant booth was a nightmare. I always called ahead an requested a table. I would also call ahead and make a reservation for the group of friends and make sure they new we were a large group. And I told them I meant in size not in amount. They would space the seating accordingly. They always accommodated us and nothing had to be said to embarrass anyone when we arrived.
