Thanks for starting this thread. As a WW newbie I feel like I'm not sure what I'm doing. I mentioned this also in the menu thread, with WW I had to really shift gears in my head for carbs. So many good vegetables are zero pts on WW but heck of a lot of carbs. My lunch yesterday was TJ's shrimp stir fry. I used to love it but had stayed away from it due to the amount of veggies and not enough protein. Yesterday when I logged it into MFP I almost had a heart attack. 15 gr of carb in one meal! Except for when I veer off and have some scone(!) I hardly have anything with that much carb in one sitting. But I told myself it will be OK and we are trying things out for 3 months.

I'm in the purple group with 16 pts daily.

I followed Dr. Atkins for many years. He started high protein, low carb dieting. He said that there was a 10% advantage to staying low carb. So if you had lost lost 10 pounds in one month, you would have lost 11 pounds by giving up the carbs.

Dr. Atkins also said that people on low carb diets burned out. When his patients reached that point, he would have them do high carb, low protein. He did not want people to give up carbs forever. He did want them to control their weight and find out how many carbs they could tolerate and still maintain.

His rule was never both low carb and low protein. He recommended switching to high carb occasionally. With Weigh****chers I don't worry about carbs or about protein. I concentrate on points when in weight loss mode.

Thank you for starting this thread. I am in the Blue Program at 30 points. I just started on Tuesday. I did get burned out doing Keto. I am going to try to continue to do low carb, though am open to following this plan and see where it takes me. I really like the sound of the english muffin, it has been so long for me!!!!

My wife and I are going to Costco and trader Joes tonight, I have already made a note of the Shrimp Stir fry that Sheila has listed, any other ideas for Low Points/ quick type meal ideas?

Trader Joe's - in the frozen section they have a ton of food with meat and veggies. If you have your app on your phone you can scan the bars right then and there to see the pts. Also, in the produce/ready to eat section they have really yummy chicken that all you need is to heat up. There is a chicken fajita that I'm drooling about just thinking about it. Sooooo good.

Is it weird that I'm giddy to have tons of veggies?

Next week I'll venture into the fruit section!

My main carbs are the light English muffins, frozen corn, frozen peas, and Kodiak frozen pancakes. Quick and easy in the microwave.

I skip the butter and enjoy them as is or sometimes with a slice of ham. I love Demonte red grapefruit in water and enjoy Demonte Very Cherry Fruit ****tail. I also buy Oregon Farms Sour Red Cherries in water and eat them with some Splenda.

An occasional treat is peel a sweet potato, put on cookie sheet, spray both sides with Pam and bake about thirty minutes. I enjoy them better than fries with meat for dinner.

I make a pot roast in the pressure cooker with water and McCormick Au Jus mix and it is very tender and flavorful and my favorite way to eat beef.

The is a good Trader Joe's Shopping List with points so that you can go in ready, and don't need to spend time scanning everything in the store!

Thank you Julia, I had not seen this prior to my trip. I had Started a list yesterday and forgot it at work, tried using my phone at the store but shopping was a little stressful, one way, masks and I didnt want to hold people up as we have to maintain that 6 foot distancing. Love TJ's!
