What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Mike, did you choose the blue plan or were you put in it? I'm a little bit confused about these different plans. All I read online they are almost the same but I guess you have more or less amount of zero foods. Like you I'm sticking to low carb so all the legumes/rice/beans that are zero on the purple plan I'm not using them. The fruit on the other hand is very tempting for me.
JB/Liz- can you illuminate?

I believe it is chosen, based on how the questions are answered. I just did a quick glance and it looks as though the difference between Purple and Blue is the number of zero point foods that are offered? Blue is 200 and Purple has 300. It will take come getting used too, and yes I do not want to introduce any legumes/rice/beans at this point. Maybe I will get there some day? We will ahve to support one another and nice to know that Julia and Liz are enjoying success!

The website chooses one for you based on the way you answered questions, but you can change it online any time. They recommend you stick with one plan for 2 weeks before switching, though. Yeah, the only difference between them is the amount of zero point foods you get, but the number of points you get are proportional, so it's not really all that different, tbh.
- Green has a sizable SmartPoints Budget and 100+ ZeroPoint foods (fruits and veggies).
-
Blue has a moderate SmartPoints Budget and 200+ ZeroPoint foods (fruits, veggies, and lean proteins). If this eating style looks familiar, that's because it's the same as WW Freestyle®.
-
Purple has a modest SmartPoints Budget and 300+ ZeroPoint foods (fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains).

One thing I was curious about -
I started at 214.8 and have 30 points allowed per day, does the daily points drop as i lose weight?

Okay, so I wondered this too. I only had 10 pounds to lose to get back into my WW lifetime range (though I personally wanted to lose close to 20). I was technically in normal BMI. It set my points (Blue) at 23 (which is probably based on Height at least if not other criteria). As long as I keep my Current Focus in Food Settings as the first choice below it stays at 23. If I change to the other (which I assume means maintenance), my points change to 28. I am guessing that if one's BMI is really high that the points might go down as BMI fell but didn't want to mess my weight up in the app to test that.

I'm not sure but as a fellow short girl with 10lbs to lose, I also started at 23 on Blue.

JB explains it well. After trying out the group WW recommends based on the questions and trying it out, IMHO people seem to end up in a color based on their need for flexibility (or not):
- Green - A lot of points but not as many zero points foods. This is for people who feel the need to be highly monitored, because free foods should not be abused (ex: a banana is free on blue and one a day is okay but 5 a day would be too many calories)
- Blue - Carbs particularly get tracked but there are a fair number of zero point foods. People here want a balance between monitoring and flexibility. I was slotted in Blue and have stayed here as it has worked well for me.
- Purple: Not many points but lots of free foods. I think people who want a lot of flexibility end up here, though they still have monitoring of carbs.
Per WW:
- Green has a sizable SmartPoints Budget and 100+ ZeroPoint foods (fruits and veggies).
-
Blue has a moderate SmartPoints Budget and 200+ ZeroPoint foods (fruits, veggies, and lean proteins). If this eating style looks familiar, that's because it's the same as WW Freestyle®.

Pouring rain here right now and supposed to continue for most of the day but we'll try to sneak at least a short walk in around the rain if possible. I walked next door to the lodge and have a load of laundry started already. They've added items to the work list so looks like we'll be here into next week. Not really in any hurry to head home as son is fine there and takes of everything with the house. Yesterday I totally cleaned out one storage room and hauled all the trash up to the yard. I have all but one corner cleaned out of the other room as well. No one had been in either room for several years. I took apart two cupboards too after I emptying them and drug them out too. I think we might be bringing the stuff I sorted up to the office to set up for an indoor yard sale which might be fun and a way for the camp to bring in some money in these tough times. I found some friends too,a black rat snake in a closet and two lizards under the leaves in the stairwell I had to clear out to get down there. Actually kind of a fun day. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.2 today. Here's the food plan B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 4 oz chicken salad D 4 oz onion burger with cheese and no bun. No snacks here and at least 100 ounces of fluids too. Pics of the two lizards to follow(son the biologist told me the spotted one is a salamander). Be safe and make those good healthy choices everyone!
