What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Thought I had a good food/water day and scale up. Fickle scale.
QOTD: Are we done yet? Miss going to gym. Kill for Starbucks latte.
I hear you on takeout... I keep toying with it out of boredom with food, and then cha-ching and I am like that is a lot of money.... If I could just hoard it to myself I might but need to share with my nephew and he is a big eater....
Allergies are killing me - making me dizzy...taking all the meds.

Hello my RnY friends! Happy Tuesday!
Yesterday I had a Covid-19 test: such a bizarre nasal assault! But thankfully within a half hour my poor nose felt more or less normal again. It was done at a drive-in site in the parking garage at a hospital in Seattle. I received my results within just a few hours - negative, thankfully. The test is a prerequisite for everyone who is about to have surgery. Tomorrow I will show up at the UW hospital bright and early at 6:30 AM. I had a Zoom telemedicine meeting with the second surgeon who will be working on me tomorrow. my cat Kai cutely photo-bombed our video meeting. I really like both of my surgeons, plus the residents I met who will be assisting. It is weird to be looking forward to surgery, but I am. I will probably be discharged on Thursday, though it's possible that I might spend an additional night. My kiddo will take me and pick me up. I told him to just drop me off and not to come in when I am discharged - why tempt fate? He lives 2 hours from me and the hospital is in Seattle proper, so he will have a long drive both ways. I'm grateful, because I will be still a bit doped up and unable to drive myself home.
I went to my favorite local grocery store (Trader Joe's, my true fave, is far away) to pick up food to get through the next little while post-surgery. I actually did not feel safe there. I don't understand why the majority of the store associates do not wear masks or gloves, and I feel the store should insist that they do. It's QFC, which is a Kroger brand - I'm perplexed by the lack of safety precautions. Additionally, there were a lot of people completely ignoring social distancing, walking close together, standing in line right next to each other, cutting right in front of others to grab things off the shelves. I think that will be the last time I go into the store until this thing has been snuffed out. I will just order, drive up, and open my trunk to have them load my items instead, or have things delivered to my front porch.
My ex-SIL Deb is feeling better though still clearly not her normal self. She is still exhausted, but thank goodness, she has no fever, and is not as short of breath.
Alert: some bad virus news incoming
I have been unable to reach my dear friend who is sick, and can only pray for her recovery. I could try calling her younger brother, but to be honest, I dread what he might say. I will call if I cannot reach her, but I will not do so before I am on the mend post-surgery.
I received bad news yesterday - my brother and his wife moved to the Gulf coast from Santa Barbara when they retired this past Thanksiving, and they brought my SIL's mom with them. She had been in assisted living in CA. They found what is supposedly the best assisted living/dementia care place for her in their new area, and she has been happy there. Health care in their new area is not as good as in CA in general, but they did their best. Anyway, yesterday the place called to let them know that a worker there has tested positive for the virus. All of the residents are being tested. I asked if they will bring her to their home. They need to determine if she has it first, and are terribly worried about her. She needs complete care. Anyway, she is an adorable person, sweet and cheerful, and still crazy about Frank Sinatra after all these years. I am hopeful that she will not test positive. Sorry for sharing such grim news.
End of bad news
QOTD - these aren't terribly clever, but:
Crazy times for all
All in this together
Don't be stupid - isolate
Considering Weigh****chers too
First: coffee with cashew milk & salted caramel Equal (I'm out of syrups, rats!)
B: tuna packet, HB egg, spring greens
L: ham, Brussels sprouts
D: Same as breakfast
I have to finish eating early tonight. Can't even have water after 8 this evening until surgery tomorrow!
Wishing every one of you safety, good health, and happiness!

So sorry to hear you have people you know being affected by this virus. That's so stressful for everyone. All the best with your upcoming surgery, and great news that you're virus free.
