Good Morning JB and Menuers,

OMG the Meme runs so true for so many. My DH sits around and makes Masks all day and I cook and walk around the neighborhood. That is our new normal. However I still go and take care of mom. My DB and I make sure she is well taken care of. Even in these time of social distancing, I insist on keeping her hair cut and colored I also do her laundry and her shopping if needed. DB is the meal provider but he let me cook for everyone on Saturday. I made smothered chicken. It is pan fried chicken smothered in caramelized onions and bacon and topped with a gouda cheese. I have togo containers so I delivered meals to my family and they loved it. That is unusual for my brother he thinks he can cook better than me but I know i cook way better. He gets carried away with spices and sometimes overwhelms recipes. I like to leave the recipes simple and let the food speak for itself.

QOTD: I have 7 lazy boy theater seats in my living room and each has a thow on it and my couch has every M&M pillow in every color on it. We basically use them on our laps to put our plates on them. So in my house we call them the dining room table.

Accountability: I did do a lot of walking and running out of boredom Most on the treadmill but yesterday it warmed up enough to get out and run Food wise not so much I did a lot grazing yesterday but fortunately it did not affect the scale so much. This is the first time since December I started a Monday Lower then my Friday.

Mornin' All!

another beautiful, sunny day so I hope to get a nice long walk (or two) in. I have a committee meeting via Zoom at 1:00, but that's it. I think I've finally zeroed in on a rocker for our porch (after a year of looking - nothing was jumping out at me..) - now I have to find a chair for the mid-century teak desk I bought last fall at an estate sale, and new pulls/handles for the kitchen cabinets. Ugh. I hate making these kinds of decisions!

accountability was OK yesterday, but I still managed to eat at the higher end of the my maintenance range. UGH! At least we got a lot of walking in. My weight is up 1.4 lbs this morning for no reason. I hope it's gone by Wednesday...

QOTD: we have a lot - AT LEAST two on each sofa and loveseat (we have four sofas and three loveseats, including the porch furniture) and a couple on each bed. But that's largely for decorative purposes because most of our larger furniture pieces - and all of our bedspreads - are in neutral colors. I usually take the pillows off when I sit on them because I don't like the bulk - although they're nice to use as pillows if I'm napping on one of the couches...)

TSS: 4y10m

B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: 2 Costco chicken skewers & a small salad with light dressing

AS: yogurt with raspberries, maybe a skinny bagel with cream cheese

D: chicken ta****

have a great day, everyone!

Good morning!

not much planned today. It was super foggy this morning. I want to exercise so bad but my back issue is just killing that. I tried to ride my recumbent bike last week and when I got up my legs went numb. It is so frustrating to not be able to do stuff!

qotd:we do have a few pillows but they are not used by us. They are for our pup Frankie (picture attached). We have about 6 that gets rotated.

b:baked oatmeal

s:PP shake with strawberries

l:deviled eggs

s:Greek yogurt w/blueberries & popcorn

d:made some dried black beans and will be putting them on burritos to freeze so they won't be around to inhale/eat. I will have a burrito tonight with black beans, 2% cheese, sour cream and the low carb tortilla of course

s:4 saltine crackers(ugh). Will have some jerky when/if needed.

Good morning friends. It's still a bit dreary here but we are expecting a huge warm up this week taking us into the mid 80's for the week.

I did NOT put shoes on one time this weekend. Took them off when I got home from work on Friday, and just put some back on for work today. I did weights and some resistance training, but over all, I was a slug. I'm working on building up endurance doing push ups and (modified) planks, so that's the best I can claim for getting my heart rate up this weekend.

QOTD: I have throw pillows in most every room in the house except the kitchen. Some I bought because I love them ("reserved for the dog" on our bed) some came with other items. Our comforter set for our guest room came with a bunch. Last time my cousin was here I told him to just toss them on the bed...meaning our granddaughters bunk beds in the same room. I've attached a picture of his interpretation. Having that cousin around is a bit like having Dr. Seuss in my house

MENU PLAN

Coffee and Gatorade Free

B: emiepie egg salad

L: 2 ounces pork, asparagus

D: onion soup meatloaf, cauliflower rice

Snack: bit of roasted chicken or cheese Whisps.

I'm really struggling with nausea for the last few days and not sure why. I tried to eat only protein this weekend, but that didn't help. I've increased my water/fluid intake and that didn't help. Took a Zofrin last night, and that gave me some relief. Any ideas to try? I could really use the advice.

Peace!

Have you been eating more of something than normal? Eggs have made me nauseous since surgery, and even more than 2 years post-op I still can't eat them. Maybe there's something that isn't agreeing with you... Otherwise, maybe try some ginger tea?

thank you for replying. I've been staying away from red meat, because that certainly doesn't sit well. I don't think I have added much in the last few weeks and the nausea really starting slamming me last week. Trying different combo's. And you are right, warm tea helps a bit. I'm tracking everything to see if I can find a pattern.

I hope you figure it out! I had a few bouts of it in the first year post op and it's miserable when you don't know why it's happening.

Ok I may have an answer but I don't know. I actually threw up this weekend but as soon as I thought about it I knew exactly what I did. It's the microwave that kills me. If I microwave any dense protein or eggs it gets to dry and gets me sick. I saw a peanut butter protein mug cake I thought I'd treat myself with and . The eggs get too rubbery for me. This could be it if not I hope you figure it out soon.

Good morning. Holding steady at goal. This week I would like to get at least a pound or two under. I feel like I got this, so I want to take advantage of that mental momentum (likely due to feeling better and I suspect some of my grazing was pain related - see below).

I saw my PCP this weekend and she told me no more Vicodin for my back issues. I was okay with that, as I generally find plain Tylenol equally as effective, or even better, for my current problems. She said that she wants me to see a pain specialist, which is something I'd been thinking about. She offered many examples of what they can do to help manage the pain, so I'm going to see about that this week. She did write the Celebrex, in combination with a ppi, per my WLS surgeon's recommendation to give a shot. I didn't hold out much hope for that, as it didn't help my shoulder. However, it has knocked off about 50% or 60% of the pain, not so much the cramping though. I'll take that for the moment as it has lessened things to make activity in general tolerable. It was a bad pain weekend until I took the medicine, and it was like someone threw a switch. Thank goodness. Sleep disturbance is still an issue, but I'm functioning alright.

QOTD - I have some of the most expensive throw pillows in bags in my basement from our "let's beautify the house phase." They are beautiful and we do pull them out for company. However, the material so pricey that we don't dare leave them on the sofa for the dogs to lay on (which they would). My wife has these two body pillows on the couch (don't ask), and my dog Oreo climbs up on top to sleep. She looks like she's on a mountain top so high up. I've got to get a picture of that.

B - 2/3 cup oatmeal with some natural raw groats for crunch (I don't even know what a groat is, but it was at the store and looked interesting). It's from one of the big natural foods companies.

L - Ham and small salad, apple

S - mandarins 3 tiny ones

D - Leftover Eggface spaghetti squash lasagna recipe - I did add some ground beef to it. It was good. I'll eat some leftovers with a small salad

S - SF popsicle

G'morning all!

Kinda foggy and gloomy here but it's supposed to warm up during the week. All kinds of projects that we never had time to do around the house are being done and that makes me happy. I'm a list person and love checking them off the list.

DH was told his company might try rotating ppl in 25% at a time for one week. In other words you go in for one week of the month. They are trying to see how this works. Not that anybody is asking my opinion, but Santa Clara county was one of the hot spots in CA at the beginning. The fact that these big companies want ppl back in doesn't make sense specially because they are all working and being productive remotely anyway. On the other hand not having DH home 24 hrs a day after 5 weeks of quarantine is very appealing.

QOTD: Few pillows on the bed and some on the couches. Luna loves the pillows on the couches and I always catch her napping with her head on the pillows.

Accountability: I made raspberry chocolate chip scones. I needed them like a hole in the head. But I swear there is some correlation between baking and quarantine. Everybody is posting their baking on social media. I was listening to a book called "The secret book and scone society" and obviously felt I can't listen to the book if I don't have a scone!

My meals yesterday:

  • B: Protein coffee
  • L: Costco egg bites
  • S: 1/2 scone
  • D: vegetarian mushu with extra scrambled eggs
  • E: rest day

Happy Monday, y'all!
