Week 3-Still sipping?
So, I am starting week 3 of post op. How long am I supposed to keep "sipping?" I guess I don't really get it. It feel like sipping causes you to suck in air. hmmm
By no means do I "chug" my water but I would really like to just take a normal drink.
How long did everyone wait to actually drink at a normal pace?
Input welcome....

I drank normally from day 1 and took "sip sip sip" to mean keep drinking to make sure I got my 80 oz in. Maybe I did it wrong!

I still can't chug, but you should be able to drink normally at 3 weeks.
Your body will tell you whether you're doing ok or not. Chugging hurts like a mofo for about 10 seconds when I try - like, really hurts!
Try not to ever let yourself get thirsty - if that means measuring your liquid intake, then do that.

You do you girl!!! Drink at what pace makes you comfy. As long as you get in at least 64oz your doing great. I spread mine out throughout the day but I don't allow myself to have my first coffee before I get 20 oz of water in then after coffee and breakfast I do not allow myself my next meal till I drink at least 25 more oz. it keeps me accountable and I spread it out throughout the day. congratulations on your new Journey. Enjoy the ride.

your doing great!
I have been taking normal sips for as long as I can remember. However, I wasn't getting in nearly enough fluids. I was getting 30 ounces in at best for the first 6 months to a year. I just now recently within the past few months been able to get in my 64 plus ounces. If I still drink too much too fast though I get nauseous and have pain. I've never been one to drink plain water unless I'm super thirsty, but crystal light has really helped me meet my fluid intake goal. I used to couldn't stand the stuff, but now I love it!
