What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning, my friends! It's Wednesday, in case you need a reminder ;) Today is another meetings-all-day day for me, but I am actually considering skipping a few... I wonder if I can get away with that!?
Today I have decided to let the kitty with the "will to improve myself", win! I am doing a sort of modified detox day and sticking to shakes, fruit & yogurt, just to try to cut the cravings for flour and sugar. It's been way too easy to grab things that I shouldn't, so I am hoping that this day gives me some much needed resolve. I am also going to hit "BUY" on a new NordicTrack Treadmill this morning. I did a lot of research and I am excited for this model!
Accountability: Too many little grab and go snacks when I walked through the kitchen yesterday, but I did 30 minutes on the bike and went for a nice long walk in the afternoon, so that was something...
QOTD: Sheila mentioned a book that is haunting her, yesterday. Do you have books that you can't stop thinking about, even years later?
I have a few from the past few years that I have thought about a lot--Homegoing by Yah Gyasi; Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng (no, I haven't seen the series yet!); and most recently I read Nothing to See Here by Kevin White which was such a fun, quick read, but definitely gave me a lot to think about. I am excited to hear what books stayed with you and download them today!

Good morning and happy Wednesday everyone! So I was just talking the other day about how I haven't been having as many migraines lately. Well I think I jinxed myself because yesterday I woke up with a headache that progressively got worse as the day went on and I was forced to take one of my migraine pills which helped somewhat, but if I don't take it soon enough it doesn't do much good. Took another before I went to bed and woke up this morning with it still. Ugh! I ended up getting a lot accomplished yesterday with work even though all I wanted to do was lie down and take a nap. I pushed through and even forced myself on the treadmill. As soon as work was over and I had eaten dinner I did lie down on the couch for a couple hours which helped. I did really good on my eating yesterday and stuck exactly to plan until that sweet craving kicked in and I got into the peanut butter last night and had a couple of spoonfuls.....sigh. I have got to do better! Today is another day where I just want to crawl back into bed since my head hurts and I'm sleepy. I guess I shall push through again though.
QOTD: I can't think of any at the moment. Will have to come back to this. My brain is a little foggy right now. Haven't had my coffee yet.

B2: coffee w/Splenda X 2 or 3

Yes!!! Oh my gosh I really have to watch myself with peanut butter or I'll keep eating it until I make myself sick. Same thing with chocolate which is why I rarely keep chocolate in the house now.

Morning! We went out to the grocery store yesterday because our Walmart delivery on Sunday was missing 10+ items. One of them was tortilla chips for the Guacamole ingredients I had purchased. I ended up having Guac for dinner last night and that really hit the spot! My restriction was super tight yesterday though. The day before yesterday I made egg salad and cucumbers and I had SF pudding with strawberries. Yesterday I discovered I was out of cucumber and I still couldn't even touch the pudding until half way to dinner. Then I sat down to Guac and chips and could only eat about 5 before I was full. I also managed to score a standing rib roast for $4/lb! So tonight we'll be having prime rib for dinner.
QOTD: This is one of those questions that I could answer and never really hit all the books that have impacted me long term. Summer Sisters by Judy Blume is the first one that always comes to mind. My mother bought it for me when I was about 13 thinking it was a children's book and it's most certainly not. It was the first truly adult book I read. I gave it to my daughter when she turned 13 and plan to do the same for my youngest. It is a coming of age story, which seems appropriate but I'm nearly certain my extremely conservative mother did not pick a book for me that had inference to lesbian sex on purpose. More recently books that have stuck with me are The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Reid Jenkins, The Things we Cannot Say by Kelly Rimmer, Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb, Becoming by Michele Obama, Whiskey When We're Dry by John Larison, The Huntress by Kate Quinn, Forgive me Leonard Pea**** by Matthew Quick, and Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly.

Summer Sisters! Yes!
Funny, I own a bunch of those titles but I haven't actually read any except for Summer Sisters and Lilac Girls, so I will move them up a little higher on the list. Thanks for the reccs! :)
