What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
on 4/13/20 3:47 am
Well, well, Monday...we meet again. I had a nice relaxing weekend. It melted away all of the work tensions and anxieties I was feeling last week. Today is all about zoom meetings, but I don't feel like looking cute. I think it might be a baseball cap & pajama pants kind of day ;)
Accountability: I did okay. I ate what I planned, which was probably about 1/16 of the calories I would have eaten on a typical Easter. The only "off plan" food was a brownie during our family's zoom dessert meetup. I didn't find time for a walk, but I did do an hour on the stationary bike. I am regretting not getting outside, now, because today's weather is going to terrible. More rain and winds so powerful hat we are expecting mass power outages. Nooooo! We are in the deep maroon area on the map:
QOTD: Let's help out any newbies who are reading. What are your top two pieces of advice you'd give someone who just had surgery?
1.) Don't take the first year for granted--be really vigilant because that's your best chance to lose the most weight.
2.) Set up healthy habits and routines from Day 1 (vitamins, water, tracking, etc) and don't let yourself stray.

Good morning all! Woke up this morning to the sound of thunder, wind and lights flickering. Ugh! Had a great 3 day weekend, but it just went by way too fast! My eating over the weekend was pretty good considering. I mean I did have 2 bites of chocolate birthday cake which wasn't on plan. I don't know why, but I have been craving sweets pretty heavily. What I would have given for one of those Cadbury eggs....sigh. They are my favorite Easter candy. Missed them this year, but I have been good about not giving into my cravings aside from the chocolate cake.
QOTD: Well I still kinda consider myself a newbie since I'm only a little over 14 months out. However, the advice I'd give is no matter what drink your fluids! I got so dehydrated and sick because I wasn't drinking like I should have been and then I couldn't drink because I couldn't keep anything down and ended up in the ER. Next piece of advice I'd give is don't get discouraged. It's easy to do especially when you hit that first stall or when you eat something you shouldn't have. Don't beat yourself up over it and get discouraged. Just get right back on the horse and keep trying your best. I still struggle with that to this day.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda X 3
L: L&F yogurt w/banana
D: premier shake
S: probably another L&F yogurt
(trying to eat light today.....we shall see how that goes)

I'm glad you had a good Easter. We had a fun online ****tail party with friends at home, so I had more WW points than usual mostly via wine but that's okay. Like you I would have had way more in the past through ham, stuffed potatoes, etc.
DS is in the same wind area on the Cape. I think the generator will be getting a workout today. Good thing I had it serviced before the winter!
QOTD: 1) Set up a schedule for weighing which you know will work for your personality. I weighed once a month during the weight loss period, then once a day when I hit maintenance. When I have regain this is one of the key things that I have to put back in place. 2) Track what you eat forever (even in maintenance). Like #1, not adhering to this is a recipe for regain (or stopping weightloss). If you develop a favorite foods list that can be helpful in staying within bounds.

So Liz I made your pie. It was good but have a few questions to make mine better.
Mine seemed a little dry, I probably overcooked it some - how long do you cook and why 380 degrees? That seems hot.
Also mine was super thick already going into the pan. Is it normally like that?
I used the cheesecake flavored pudding mix. So I added some vanilla extract. Flavor was good.
Thanks for the recipe!

I cook it exactly at the time/temp. Mine isn't too dry, but yes it is super thick going into the pie plate. Maybe the type of yogurt makes a difference? I use Fage.
Did you still use the lemons, but with a different pudding? I was able to get the pudding from Amazon (LOTS of it - LOL).
