Good evening all!

So I am 8 days post op today and feeling pretty strong. I have no pain or discomfort that I can even measure. I am getting in my water and protein but oddly enough, I feel hungry. I didn't actually think I would.

I am down about a pound a day since surgery...so onward we go! :0)

Glad things are going well. If hungry it's likely you need more liquid. It can't be true hunger as your nerves aren't healed. IT could also be head hunger but I'm betting it's the amount of liquid. If head hunger just do something to distract yourself. Or get away from your possible triggers. Good luck

Soon after VSG, hunger is usually acid. Acid will mimic hunger. Are you on an acid reducer?

Most surgeons put people on a prescription PPI for at least six months after surgery. VSGers especially are prone to acid issues. Many have to have the dosage and/or type of PPI altered until they find something that works.

Stay on top of it. Acid can drive you crazy.

Congratulations on all of your successes. I was wondering, what made you decide to go from VSG to RNY? I had VSG in 2009 and, seem to be creeping up and up. Have thought of having revision to RNY, and looking for insight.

Hello Starred616!

I had 2 reasons for the revision. The main one was because my weight was creeping up. My earring habits were headed in the wrong direction. My second was GERD. I was having a hard time even sleeping through the night.

Those were my driving factors!!
