What's on your Monday Menu, RNYers?
QOTD- Jeans as this is my usual attire.
It was a very long weekend without any football. I have the unlimited pass from Regal but no theaters are open so not even any movies. Actually I miss the popcorn the most, even with buying Flavacol I still can't make my home popcorn taste like the theaters.
I've been trying to not think about being stuck in the house. It rained off and on yesterday and today started with a downpour so I don't know if I can get a walk in or not. I need to just get out my rain gear and go, it will help my mind. I've totally been a slug, it is hard to know what day it is as they all blend together. So what if it's the weekend when there is nothing to do.
I was going to not start another puzzle so there is room for the garden starts on the table, but I went and got my folding table out for more starts so that I can use the other table to work on a puzzle. I need it for my mental health, I can take a break and work on it for a few minutes and it clears my head. I have a small sunroom off of my kitchen and it has the best light so that is where I set up the puzzle.
I have to go to the bank this morning, I didn't get my chec****il Saturday and they were closed by the time it arrived. I work for the only company that doesn't do direct deposit... The credit union is open but only the drive through. I'll try to be there right at 9AM so I'm hoping there won't be too much of a line.
I know it sounds silly but I'm another one that worries about my nails, I had an appointment on Thursday but she had to close down. I've thought of buying a nail drill on Amazon but I'm afraid I'd hurt myself. I have shellac on them and I'll probably just file them down and call it good. I worry about my nail person as she is self employed and has no income and doesn't qualify for unemployment. She is one of the many people who I'm afraid will fall through the cracks.
Have a great day everyone!

Funny, I'm on a conference call right now and yes, wearing Jeans (actually the ones I normally wear to the office). I'm actually dressed normally as I do have a video call with a job candidate in an hour (though I didn't shave today - did it last night after I got off the bike and took a shower). The worst I have done so far is I was wearing some sweat pants - now I could get into that normally ;)
I'm not sure what it is (likely stress of what's going on), but I'm not really eating much food, but making sure I get enough protein. I am snacking a couple times a day (small size). I need to shift those snacks to more healthy options. Overall, I'm still down about 3 pounds since the start of this pandemic. I only have about 2 pounds left of the regain to lose now. I got some nice apples and mandarins this weekend, so I'll focus on those today as snack items.
B 3/4 cup steel cut oats, 1/3 banana and 1/8 cup nut based, low grain granola
L Apple, carrots, Salad, 2.5oz Smoked Ham
S Mandarins, almonds 8
D Chicken stew
S SF popsicles

Logging in from work here today.
I am trying to figure out if it is possible for me to find a way to start working from home. As long as I have the software installed on my laptop and the headset to do it, I think it's just stupid for me to be here every day when I literally sit at this desk and don't need to go anywhere all day long...all meetings are canceled to adhere to social distancing rules so I really don't think it is necessary. There may be one or 2 days a week I would need to come in for some reason but I can't really think of any good reason right now.
Not to mention, once my DH's 5 allotted paid days off are up, he will need to bring Story to the babysitter while he logs in to work from home since his job is super strict about not allowing anyone in the room while he is logged in.
If I can work from home, this will solve all our issues.
I will talk to HR about this later today and see if IT can set it up for me.
our oven igniter crapped out on Friday, so We spent Saturday watching youtube and DH went on a hunt for the replacement part but evidently nobody carries these in stores anymore, so we had to order it from Amazon...All my weekend baking plans went out the window.
it was thunder storming here all weekend so I did not get outside at all...I did find some cute kid-friendly workout videos that Story and I did together to get us moving though...it's not nearly the same as getting out and going for a nice walk but it's something...we did some crafts, we decorated our window and painted our front door with some hearts for the heart-hunters out there, and we played a lot of board games which Story really loves, so I call it a successful weekend...whenever I can keep her happy, my life is 100 times easier LOL.
QOTD: any of you that follow me on FB or IG have likely seen my OOTD posts...my weekends are usually leggings and jeans but I still get dressed for work M-F currently so I am wearing a cute little navy and white polka dot skirt today. :)
B: lots of coffee (Blueberry cobbler blend) w/SF vanilla creamer, overnight oats- same as usual, Almond milk, vanilla greek yogurt, blueberries and cinnamon
MS: protein bar
L: leftover venison chili w/tbsp sour cream (we are trying to use up some of the meat in our freezer and this is the only way I enjoy venision- my uncle goes hunting and gave us a bunch of deer meat last summer).
AS: L&F greek yogurt, small apple
D: Probably salmon, I think it's the easiest stovetop meal we have planned since we have to wait til we get the part to fix the oven on Tuesday
ES: turkey and cheese roll ups
here are a couple pictures from our heart hunters project- dont judge, I know my house needs to be re-painted! was planning to do it this spring but who knows now lol.

Your storm door is amazing! Sorry your hubby's company isn't being more flexible; we have a pretty tight "remote coverage doesn't substitute for child care" policy when we're not in a global pandemic but we're now under the "do what you can, do what you need to mode" given every school and day care is shut down and even if someone has home daycare, that's still moving germs from place to place. Maybe they will come around.

they are already being a lot more lenient than normal by basically shipping all the equipment to him and allowing him to set it up himself as well as just doing a quick "virtual tour" of our office space- confirming he has a room with a door...
He works for JP morgan chase so there are a lot of confidentiality issues which is why the rules are so strict...I mean our 5 year old cant read yet so I dont think its a danger, but she also can't sit in the office with him for 6 hours while nobody is there to watch her, so it's not really ideal either way.
I did just get the go-ahead to work from home myself though, and my equipment is all working, so as of tomorrow I will be working from home as much as possible and hopefully won't need to come into the office for a while...I can bring my laptop anywhere in the house to work so it will alleviate the need for child care. WHEW.

I am so glad this has worked out for you. I love the artwork too. Are neighborhood has been putting Teddy bears in the windows but i am not on FB so I was unaware of what was going on till DH pointed it out to me when we were walking this weekend. Wish he would keep me updated. Don't want to be known as the old mean lady down the street.
