What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
on 3/25/20 2:43 am
Good morning everyone! Thanks for your encouraging words yesterday... I took some Mucinex and I am feeling a billion times better without the pressure on my sinuses. Phew. I really didn't want to be sick while stuck inside, on top of everything else!
Over the weekend, Grim put in a huge order of wood to a lumber yard up in NH so that he's have something to do while we are stuck inside. The order came in yesterday and I took a half day off in the afternoon to drive up with him. I stayed in the car and practiced my Spanish lessons on the app, while he loaded up the car. It was nice just to take the drive and see the world after a week inside. The traffic was amazing--it often takes an hour just to get through the tunnel in the city and yesterday we breezed through it at 60 MPH during what is normally rush hour. It was wild. Things looks pretty normal up in NH though--they haven't issued any stay at home orders there and it was basically business as usual.
Accountability: Uhhhh, 3rd day in a row that I really didn't follow my menu plan. After being out all day we decided to partake in National Take Out Day and we got pizza from our favorite local spot. Not the end of the world--not too high in points, but it was unplanned and I need to start sticking to my menu or all hell is going to break loose.
QOTD: New Quarantine Game! Pretend your pets or children are your "coworkers" and tell me what one of your coworkers is doing right now! One of my "coworkers" fell asleep on my bra and the other is chewing up a cardboard box!

Morning. Does anyone else think it's distinctly unfair that they make us stay home and now they won't ship us anything fun from Amazon?! Jon bought me a Nintendo Switch for an early birthday gift and I can't manage to get a case for it without leaving the house (which I won't do for that). I haven't had this kind of problem since about 2005! (Side note: I understand the validity behind the current restrictions and want everyone to get their diapers first, I'm just joking).
QOTD: My co-worker has repeatedly woken me up by booping me on the nose at all hours of the day.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x2
- Egg & Sweet Potato or Egg and English Muffin
- Turkey, Cheese, Pickles or I might be able to make one more salad out of the bag of shredded lettuce I scored yesterday.
- Take out, but I'm not sure which yet. There's a bunch of restaurants that have banded together to do a co-op. You can place an order for a family meal and they give you enough for whatever number of people at a pick up between 1-4pm. You can also pick up veggies, meat, beer, and wine. We may give that a go.
I also have an appointment with another hip surgeon at 7:45am this morning (we're doing a telehealth visit) and I'm hoping to get in a walk today if the rain stops. Yesterday was wet and rainy and it really downpoured overnight too.

OMG yes. I feel so spoiled by Amazon Prime. I recognize, too, that this is a crazy first world problem that I should not be complaining about, but it's still annoying.
Hope your appointment goes well!

Good morning everyone! I stayed on plan for the most part yesterday, except I got the munchies last night and had one of those snack sized bags of popcorn. I convinced myself it was ok because it was the kind without all the extra butter and fat, but did I need it? No. So I will try to be more disciplined today. I am still trying to stay around 800 calories a day because I am NOT done losing despite what my doctor says! It's so hard though and I find that most days I go over my calorie limit and It's more like 900 calories instead of 800. How do you guys do it? My weight seems to be stuck right now and fluctuates between 182-186. I need it to start going down again though. It's frustrating. Sigh...
QOTD: My coworker just finished eating breakfast and is now licking himself clean.
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda
L: salad
D: salmon and broccoli
S: L&F yogurt w/banana
***lets be real here....I have like 4 cups of coffee per day.

Not consistently, but I know I need to get better about that! That would probably help a lot. Thank you!

I was burtle with myself I got on the scale everyday (still do) I weighed measured every time I got stuck and never missed a gym work out. I also had skin removal that gave me the ambition to finish my journey.

Thank you! Yes, I weigh everyday as well. That is one thing I'm very anal about. I need to do better with weighing everything I eat though! For some reason the skin removal surgery scares me. I do have lots of extra skin. It's frustrating and disgusting to look at, but doesn't really bother me otherwise. I'd love to have it gone though!

I had a hernia so my skin removal came as a 2 for. They had to remove the skin after the hernia repair. I do recommend it if it is available to you. Absolutely will give you the confidence to finish your Journey.

Everytime I have a follow up with my doctor they mention it to me. I always thought I wanted to reach my goal weight before I had skin removal surgery, but maybe it's what I need to give me that extra push. Thanks for the feedback!!
