G'morning all!
Well, we received order of shelter-in for most of CA. Although this means all businesses that are non essential need to shut down it's ironic to see who thinks their biz is essential. I'll give them a couple of days to get with the program.
Julia - so happy to hear you are finally allowed to telecommute. Jen and Em's list are practically covering everything. I might add a couple of things in case Grim is also working from home. We have an office room here at home. I've telecommuted since DS was born, so practically 18 years, and DH works from home 2 days a week. So we had some kinks we had to solve because at one point we were seriously considering putting up cubicle walls.
- I know you don't have to worry about this but we had told kids during working hours they can cross the threshold of office doors only if there was blood or fire.
- We check each other's calendar before scheduling conf calls. Only one of us in that room can have a call, unless the other one is willing to leave the room. But that means taking computer, presentation, or whatever with you and it's just easier to coordinate.
- My husband's work is in a way that he fiddles with codes and then he needs to let it run to see if it works (I'm just simplifying it in my head because I can never understand what he does). The problem was when he was letting it run he wanted to talk and I can't talk if I am looking at budgets and running numbers. So we got into the habit to ask each other "can you talk?" It saved us from so many snappy answers but it took us a good year to get to that point!
QOTD: I am a total extrovert, love crowds and groups of friends. Love to meet new people. Although I think with age I'm starting to lean towards introvert. I would be totally OK by myself as long as I have my stuff (audible, yarn, crochet hook, knitting needles).
I'm going back to the habit of listing my day before meals because I never know what I'm eating the day of.
My meals yesterday:
- B: Protein coffee
- L: 4 turkey sausage links + hb egg
- S1: 10 dark chocolate chips and about 15 sesame sticks (totally unplanned and unnecessary)
- S2: 1 chicken skewer
- D: tuna + 2 hb egg
- E: cardio - 4 miles run
Have a great Tue everyone.

QOTD-Pretty much a total introvert, but I did compete in Spee*****ollege and got to go to the Finals in San Antonio one year. I have social anxiety, and don't really like crowds I reach a saturation point and I just need to get away. I'm really honestly afraid of people, but I've learned to deal with it. However if I get started talking to someone I don't want to stop. I'm also more comfortable with people who have done the same job I've done. I've been in the telephone industry since I was 20, and I'm most comfortable with other cable splicers, even though I am now an engineer. We speak our own language I call it telephonese.
Back in the office as of yesterday, I normally work at home on Fridays. I did work from home for 2 1/2 years and I was really happy to get back in an office. I actually missed the interaction. I have an office at home and when I was working there I was living alone. Now with a roommate, it's usually OK, but I have to say I'm working sometimes. When I was working from home all the time it was easier to focus, and we had weekly conference calls and communicated on Skype, I had specific jobs I needed to complete and I would work through them in an orderly manner. If I was going to be away from my computer I would Skype my boss and let her know. With only one day a week it's a little harder to stay on task and Jen thanks for all of the reminders.
I feel for all of the people who are not working and not being paid. I hope this passes quickly but I'm afraid it won't. I'm not going to look at my retirement account anytime soon. I went to the grocery store yesterday and they had no flour or sugar and no toilet paper or paper towels. I got my fruit so I was happy. I think they are going to close the liquor stores soon, so I'm sure there will be a run on them too.
All restaurants and bars are closed except for take out service, so I'll have to make sure I bring my lunch as most of the places that we go are dine in. On the positive side there was very little traffic this morning, and with no kids in school you don't have to go 20MPH in the school zones.
Have a great day everyone!

Grouchy me today. This morning I just felt unsettled. I made my Click shake topped with whippage and sat down to watch my soap, but Trump and his crew were on. Stayed on and on. I switched to HGTV. Finally took half a Xanax to take the edge off. Feeling better now which is good since I had to come to work.
DH is scheduled to come home from rehab Thursday so that is good news.
QOTD: I'm probably half and half. I don't like crowds at all. I really dread going into a meeting or any kind of gathering if I don't know anyone. When I was working temp jobs I never had a problem going to a new job. I was the coordinator for a guilt guild and enjoyed leading meetings. I read scripture at church so I'm okay speaking to a large group of people.
I had a bunch of apples so I sliced and cooked with a little butter, brown sugar blend, cinnamon and cloves. Very good. I have trouble digesting fresh apples. Sunday I air fried a steak and finally had to make it come up. Miserable as time passed with a feeling it was growing midway between my throat and tummy.
Fair Life protein drink
Click shake
Progresso soup; saltine crackers
Apples cooked
Greek yogurt w/granola
more apples heated with a little cheese (apple pie without a crust)
