What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu, RNYers?
Good morning, everybody!
Last summer, Jen asked everybody to post what their personal challenge was for July. I posted that I would try and solve double under jumprope, which I flubbed. Well, I am finally making some progress towards my goal. With the (somewhat) warmer weather, I have been back to the garage to practice and I'm starting to get some with semi-regularity. At this point, I am still at the stage of trying to mix them in with regular jumprope, so its usually like single, single, double, single, single, double, single, single, hit myself in the back of the head with the wire jumprope. But before this week, I had never been able to do a double and then get back to a rhythm. Mainly because I donkey kicked.
My learnings, thus far:
1) use a short, heavy rope
2) don't have to jump higher (i.e. don't donkey kick), just spin faster
3) Keep my hands close to my body - don't let them wander out to the side and hit myself in the head with the rope
4) Don't drop my wrists down towards the ground
I got the boys off to school. They said that they think this may be there last day at school for awhile, based on rumors that they had been hearing yesterday. Marilyn is having a good time in Arizona, although rainy weather has been keeping them off the tennis courts. They ran into the Cubs players at lunch and spent a lot of time in the hot tub drinking wine from the looks of it.
My 8-K in two weeks is now cancelled also. We still have the hotel reservation, and will plan a weekend in the city, I guess.
I did a little inventory, and it doesn't look like we have a lot of food in the house. Marilyn may want to stock up a little when she returns, I'm not sure. If she does, I will go with her and brave the crowds. We do have our meds and toilet paper.
QOTD: Probably Bai water. I never went back to caffeinated after surgery, so while I really like coffee, I'm OK with missing.
Breakfast: Chaffle
Snack: Protein bar
lunch: salad
snack: nuts
Dinner: Pizza
Have a great day, all!

We are. The flavors in those boxes aren't my favorites, but maybe I will buy some anyways. I don't want to be stumbling around Illinois searching for Costa Rican Clementine if everything is out of stock.
I think there is a new cherry flavor also. I liked it.

Nice job on the double under! Bummer that both of your races are canceled, though...

We got an email that they would try to reschedule and that we could still pick up our Tee-shirts. Which, I think is a fancy way of saying no refunds.

Good morning menu friends! It's raining right now here in Hot Springs so Miss Lily and I have yet to walk. No work today, though, so we can get out whenever it decides to stop. Accountability was spot on both food and stepwise and weight is 120.2 today. QOTD definitely coffee and more coffee and oats. Those are my 2 staples. Even got my liquids in yesterday. I feel so much better when I hydrate like I should so why is it so tough to remember to drink? Here's the food plan B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 3/4 c chili D 4 oz baked fish.
