What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Mornin' All!
busy day today. I'm going to a training from 8:00 am - noon for legal guardians (put on by the county). Then Mah Jongg this afternoon (we usually play for 2-3 hours). I've got something else this evening that escapes me now. And I have to go to the gym sometime today to do weights since it's been a few days. And I have some crap I need to get done today or tomorrow for a couple of my organizations (why does this all seem to need to be done at the same time - I am pulling my hair out!). The rest of the week will be busy as well, but I think today is the craziest. And now, of course, they've completely shut down all of Italy because of this virus. Trying to figure out what to do about that, too. Some airlines recently extended their re-booking fee waiver until the end of April (originally it was the end of March). I guess all I can do is wait and see what happens...
accountability wasn't horrible yesterday but could have been better. My calories were within range, but at the high end (I've been trying to keep them at the low end). Hopefully I'll have a better day today.
QOTD: I know of supposedly effective ways to deal with this (like exercise or meditation), but I won't claim to do those very often. It seems I usually change into my pajamas, prop myself up in bed, and get lost on the internet. Sometimes doing things that require some strategizing or sleuthing - like finding lost friends or trying to figure out some genealogical puzzle - (both via internet) will get my mind off the current stress.
4 years 9 months out:
B: 1/2 C protein oatmeal with 1 T mixed nut butter & a thing of Carbmaster cinnamon roll yogurt, coffee with half & half
MS: I'll take a protein shake and maybe a protein bar with me to the training
L: salad with diced turkey and light dressing
AS: Mah Jongg all afternoon - I'll take a protein shake or a protein bar with me to that, too
D: Beyond Burger on a skinny sandwich bun with light Thousand Island dressing, tomato slices, and lettuce
have a great day, everyone!
I'm sorry you didn't sleep well last night. I did but had strange dreams.
I am getting concerned about coronavirus, not for my own health but for some family and friends who are in more precarious health. And I am concerned at the effects on social events and travel. St. Patrick's parade in Boston cancelled!!!
QOTD: Taking a walk helps, but I can stew with the best of them. I usually count on things looking better (or me being better able to deal with them) after a good nights sleep. If I have one of those sleepless nights like you, usually I just try to make it through the next day with the issue pushed to the back of my mind and generally will sleep the second night because of exhaustion. And the next day is usually better.

My coworker (who is like a character straight out of every Southie movie ever made...) was supposed to be in the St Patty's Day parade, and it is literally all he has talked about for a month. I'm so sad for him that its canceled!

OK well the parade in Pittsburgh is still on so you can send him here. Real quick, years ago like 23 I was on a float in the parade the bar I hung out at put a horse drawn wagon in and let all us drunks ride in the back and throw beads and candy. I was almost to the end and I basically fell off the wagon. Goes to show us Italians have no business riding in a Irish parade. I'll stick to the Columbus day Parade from now on.

Love the Frenchie photo - LOVE any Frenchie photo, lol. Stuck to WW yesterday, under my points, up 1 lb today. Ugh. I fear my stuffed peppers may be high in sodium (canned corn, tomato sauce, cheese...) but I'm eating the other half tonight anyway, lol. It was delicious.
QOTD: Sometimes if I think through why the day was so bad, I realize it's either beyond my control or will pass. Sometimes that helps. I also think sleep deprivation makes everything seem worse, so I'll take an advil pm and go to bed. Usually I wake up rested and feeling better about life.
B: oat, flax pita with lf friendship whipped cottage cheese and crushed pineapple, and cinnamon/splenda
L: turkey breast, pita and NE cranberry relish (thanks JB, I like it!)

I made a WW friendly stuffed pepper recipe last week that was only 2 points a serving. I actually made mine "deconstructed" - as in, I cut up the peppers and added them into the mix instead of stuffing them. It was good! It ended up being 2pts/serving.

Good morning JB and Menuers,
Sorry you had a ****ty day yesterday Julia. My hope is your today gets much better.
I went to my physical support group and our fearless leader *****signed at the end of last year was back leading the group. She is 13 year post op and does it better than anyone else in the practice could because they have never been and never did. I think they talked her into coming back for good. So it's now every other month and in a more convenient location. We had to pay for parking at the hospital but we don't pay parking here so this is way better. I think attendance will pick up because of it and there were a bunch of Newbies last night. I wish them all well.
Accountability: Trail mix before bed. I have good choices don't know why I went for that
QOTD: I go to the gym and beast it. I find a really intense workout helps relieve the stress. BTW pre surgery it would have been a bag of chips and beer.

Good morning y'all, Happy Taco Tuesday!
QOTD - When I'm feeling bad, I acknowledge it. Sometimes saying it out loud helps me figure it out. I believe everything we do is based on two feelings. Fear, and love. So if I'm angry, I start working on it asking myself what am I afraid of? For example. I am angry at work, etc. I ask myself what am I fearful of? An answer could be "I am afraid I'm not working to my full potential", or "I am afraid that my coworkers/boss think XYZ...". Working through it that way helps me acknowledge and understand my feelings. The sooner I do that, the sooner I can get past it.
Breakfast - None, fasting, hot tea and topo chico!
Lunch - Vegan spaghetti with beyond burger, veggies with avocado butter
Snack - Frozen fruit smoothie, frui****er, chia seed, hemp seed protein and oat milk
Dinner - Bean chalupas with lettuce, tomato and beyond burger
Have a wonderful day y'all!
Christina
