Mornin' All!

I have a meeting downtown this afternoon and will take the bus down there so I can get a lot of walking in. I was going to go to a group coffee meet-up later this morning, but I think I'll pass - it's at a bakery, and I don't trust myself at the moment. I had a horrible Saturday (WAY too many calories). Yesterday was great, but I want to have several good days under my belt before I put myself in a risky situation again!

other than the overeating on Saturday, the weekend was good. My friend and I went to a real nailbiter of a (college) basketball game last night- one of the most exciting games I've ever been to (of all sports - not just basketball!). I should start going to more basketball games - I hadn't been to one in forever (we often go to hockey games, though...), and it was great fun! I'm not a real sports freak and hate watching them on TV, but going in person is a blast - so much going on in addition to the game.

QOTD: I'm a cook - I don't like baking at all. Baking is way too precise for me. I like using recipes only as a guideline - or not using them at all - and making lots of substitutions, just throwing in random things - and you can't do that with baking or you risk ending up with a big mess on your hands.

TSS: 4 years 8 months

B: chaffles with plain Greek yogurt and blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: fit frappe

L: 2 Costo chicken skewers, salad with light dressing

AS: I'll take a protein bar with me to the meeting in case I get home later than planned (don't want to risk a binge if I'm too hungry when I get home!). Otherwise, if I'm home early, I'll have a L&F yogurt

D: homemade Indian curry (no rice)

ex: walking!

have a great day, everyone!

I like to make " crackers" out of the lavash bread. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning and I use a pizza cutter to cut into squares. ( 18 crackers is a half a flat) bake on 350 for 8 minutes.

Good morning JB and Menu folks. I hope all is well, I have been extremely busy at work and have done quite a bit of soul searching trying to determine where I want to be as far as scale vs actual health and well being. The scale drives me crazy. I still need to get the dexa scan done. I have done a great job getting back to 205 lbs. I am leaner and my clothes are loose. I have been following keto with healthy fats and have added exogenous ketones and IF to my daily routine. Has worked well for me.

I am not sure if I had mentioned the plan to Visit my Son in Germany ( he is studying abroad for a semester) and then was going to attend a trade show in Bologna Italy. Both trips are postponed due to the Coronavirus, I am out $750 due to change fees/ Ryan air not allowing me to cancel, Hotel in Berlin not allowing me to cancel.

QOTD - I am a much better cook than baker. Have tried many new Keto/Low carb recipes since the first of the year.

B- Ketone shake

L - salami and cheese

AS - Ketone shake

D - Spinach, Ham, Cheese Omelette with Great Low Carb Bread Company Toast.

E - Strike Fit and then a 3 mile run. ( I have started to attend HIIT Training with a local trainer and enjoy it)

Stay healthy my friends, Mike

OMG Mike, that SUCKS. Not only do you not get to visit your son, but you are out $750??? It's so awful that the CDC says "no non-essential travel" and the airlines can charge us $300 a ticket to NOT fly on their plane. Such BS.

It really ****** me off.

The Hotel - I chose non refundable so is my fault...but you would think there would be an understanding that this is a worldwide concern.

Ryan air - same deal, budget airline we were going to take from Berlin to Bologna, would only refund if Bologna airport would close. It would cost me a change fee that is close to what the tickets cost, so I am going to eat it.

My Company will pay for the change of flights for the trip to Bologna, I had to pay for the change for Joddies ticket $226 change fee...

What bothers the most is that we will not get to visit Ryley in Germany.

Sorry to hear about your trip. I hope some of these companies come to their senses and realize this is a global issue, people are not cancelling because they want too!

Seriously - if the WHO and CDC are saying "do not travel to these places and spread a pandemic", it's total BS of the airlines to not allow changes and cancellations.

Like you, I am 100% most sad about not being in Italy...I would 100% rather be there than to be sitting on my butt here...

Bunch of crap. But like I said I wonder if your credit card will reimburse. I thought Visa had protection in these types of cases.

I'm still waiting to see what happens to mine. I'm not scheduled to go to Italy until mid-May. The travel company emailed today and said they are reducing cancellation fees and completely waiving re-booking fees if you reschedule your trip for sometime within the next 12 months. HOWEVER, the airline was separate from the rest of trip. Some airlines are waiving their change fees for the time being, but not all airlines are, and none of them are going into May yet (they're all different, but the latest date is something like mid-April). I don't want to pay the change fees for the airline tickets, so I'll sit on this for a couple more weeks and see if any of them extend the penalty-free change period. If they do, I may rebook this trip for the fall since I won't be out anything. BUT...we'll see. I'm thinking by May either a lot of this will be behind us, or the stupid virus will be EVERYWHERE so it's not going to matter where you travel. But this unknowing is awful. I'm so sorry you're out the money.
