Can you get the sleeve surgery after you have had the Roux-en-Y?

It is not about stretching it is about sliding. Sure, I can only eat 5 bites of chicken breast...but I can eat an actual TON of popcorn because it slides right down... and candy goes right down too! I may need to pace myself so that I don't get light headed from the sugar, but I could keep going and eat junk all day and gain it all back if I started acting like my pre-surgery self.

Has there been any weight change since you stopped the beer? That could be a good data point, no matter the answer, to discuss with your doctor as you look into options. Sounds like you are doing all the things, do you weigh and track meals and liquids? If so, maybe look at a week of calorie reduction to see if there is an impact? Again, no matter the result, it's a good data point for the doctor.

Do you weigh and track food? I know that when I eyeball something and then measure it, I'm rarely correct (and I'm rarely over estimating almost always under estimating). If nothing else, the tracking would give you data to share with your doc!

No I dont....I dont eat enough to track...let alone weigh it...I cant eat regular portions of food...half a burger..no fries...no drink. I dont eat ALOT of foods because I dont like them...I dont like ALOT of diff fruits....Im lactose intolerant....I cant tolerate pork....I cant eat alot of leafy veggies because they cause diarrhea...I dont eat ALOT OF BEANS ETC...because I dont like them. I dont think anyone is understanding what Im saying.

I had a rny 2013 everything was fine until mar 2018 ..i had the reversal because I wasnt sustaining weight REGARDLESS OF WHAT i ATE.... the day of my surgery I weighed 100 pounds. Now 17 months after the reversal...im gaining weight...and dont know why...considering..i dont eat carbs,,,sugar..or drink beer anymore. but steady gaining weight and my numbers are climbing back up

Your issue is that you are gaining weight and don't understand why, that's a pretty simple problem statement.

People have given you suggestions that may help you to diagnose why and also that might help you in your conversations with your medical team (because they likely will ask the same types of questions).

You can utilize that feedback or not but it's a bit disingenuous to say no one understands.

I understand them giving suggestions..because they have had the surgery....but have they experienced it? I also said I appreciated the advice and responses...I know what I need to talk to my dr about..

IF you have not...or are not going thru what I am...then you wouldnt understand.

I guess I can understand being scared of dialysis. But you HAD to know that undoing your RNY would get you back to your highest weight and worst diabetic status . Personally I would have sought out another " solution" .

Chances are - you weren't taking your vitamins . Chances are - you stuck mostly to small portion s of your pre surgery menu . This isn't nutritious and will bring your health down fast ... this is why insurance requires nutrition and psychological screening .... however some get past it who shouldn't . Does your surgeon offer post op eating classes ? Vitamin / bloodwork consult ? I wouldn't try for another WLS till I thoroughly had my unhealthy eating habits under long term control . Wishing u the best .
