Happy Hump Day, kids! What's happening? I have an annoying day ahead. I have three school visits but they are all downtown so I can't drive, and they are poorly timed so I will be going back and forth to my office in between...basically, I am going to be walking around in the rain for hours today. Also, I can't believe it is freaking raining again. If it had been a colder winter we would have been buried in snow, but we barely had a flake.

Accountability: Good day with food. Bad day with steps and exercise.

QOTD: Do you have any local stores with silly/stupid names near you? I laugh my head off every time we drive past the "One and Only Jamaican Restaurant II". We also have a fish restaurant in Boston called "Thelonious Monkfish".

Whoops: I just noticed that I accidentally added my hard boiled eggs, twice! Just having them for breakfast :)

Morning! There's super dense fog here this morning. I'm glad I won't be driving kids to school, I guess. We're still holding the flu off over here (well Jon and I are). Both kids will be home again today. Kid #1 went most of the day fever free and then spiked a fever again around dinnertime. The poor kid sobbed because she wants to go back to school so bad. It's her "one month anniversary" with her boyfriend and he is well enough to return to school after his case of the flu today.

In other news, I got my MRI results yesterday. I do have a pretty significant tear of the labrum in my hip. I will need surgery to repair it. I sent some questions back to the orthopedic office, but they want me to start with an "intrarticular injection" of lidocaine to verify that if they numb the tear my pain goes away completely. However, I think that's going to cost me about $650 and literally it's like numbing a tooth (but requires a live x-ray to do) I'm hoping I can convince them that's not reasonable.

QOTD: Back at home in NY we had a place called "Between the Buns". I always thought that was pretty terrible, lol.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x2
  • Panera Salad (catered work meeting I need to go in for)
  • Chicken Noodle Soup AGAIN (the batch I made was huge for kids that are eating very little) or I'll make stuffed shells.

Sorry to hear about the tear. I hope you have a quick and pain free recover. If not great meds and a lot of good entertainment to binge while recovering.

Good Morning! JB- your day doesn't sound fun. I'll admit that mine doesn't either. I have a few evals to deliver, a follow up conversation with two adults that can't manage to get along and amongst all that running and evaluating reports to recommend staffing changes (updating tasks/duties). Meanwhile it all seems trivial as John's boss is on life support and they aren't sure if he'll make it. He has been dealing with a lung infection and a few other things the last few months but he's in his 50's with an 18 and 14 year old so it's just horrible. Sorry for the ramble this morning!

Accountability: I added some peanuts

QOTD: We have quite a few pho places and they all like Pho1-2-3 and things like that.

Yes,it's often about perspective. If we look around we quickly find someone who has it SO much worse than we do. Praying for John's boss and family here,Kelly.

That is terrible. One of Marilyn's friend's children got really sick at college to the point where she was in a medically induced coma. Fortunately, she is in recovery now, but these illnesses really put everything into perspective.
