The BiG DROP!
Actually the little bit of chocolate you had is worth mentioning. From your earlier post it indicated that you were pretty fresh out of surgery & you was already testing the waters by eating chocolate. You gave an excuse to eating chocolate, even a little, because it was Valentines Day. You also somewhat joked about whether or not you would swallow the chocolate.
I'm sorry but for all the reasons listed above, it sounds like you still have a problem with your eating that you really need to focus on. Whether it's through therapy or anything else, concentrate on the why.

I am experiencing the 3 WEEK STALL, does anyone remember and can post how long your first stall was and for how long and what was the BIG DROP amount that happened when you started to lose again..??
Revisions are always slower and different than a virgin surgery. The more revisions one has the slower the weight loss. You may not get the BIG DROP you are looking for after the stall it might only be 3-5lbs or less.
For me I was a revision from band to bypass due to excessive GERD and had gained half my weight back due to it. I lost if I remember correctly 26lbs the first month and that was with the 3 week stall. Then it was 5-10lbs for the next 5 months. There may be a honeymoon period, but things do start slowing down after 6 months to a year. You really have to work harder after a revision and since you have had 3 WLS this time may be a lot slower than the first two.
LadyGodiva,
Thank you i need to hear this and its ok, refreshing to me to be reminded... yes i have to start excersizing hard incorporate weight lifting in another 2 weeks.. (when doc clears me) for now just walking...
and if im not mistaking correct me if i am wrong but im considered a light weight (43.1 lbs) so that might be even harder...
Its so weird how we are eating less than 1/2 of what we were eating yet weight comes off so slowww..
Yea you have a couple of things against you. You're a light weight and a revision.
I also can't stress enough that not one of us can out exercise a bad diet. I have seen over the years folks go balls to the walls working out, but still have trouble losing all their weight or they start to gain it back. It really comes down to what and how much we consume daily.
So my advice is listen to the vets even if you don't agree with what they say. Folks here who are 5, 10, 15 even 20 years out and have maintained their weight loss did so by sticking to the rules. They worked hard the first year and didn't test the waters with anything. There are some who had a regain and guess what they worked their tool and lost the weight again without any revisions. They went back to the basics of Protein first and made sure to track/weigh/measure everything.
Hi, I hope that you're not comparing your weight loss on other people's weight loss & basing your expectations off of their progress. Focus on yourself & the changes you're making towards your goal. Using other peoples timelines can be a double edged sword. It can encourage you to push harder or disappoint you when you're not making enough progress.

No T,
I am not comparing i simply thought it was a conversation piece and i just like to read other peoples experiences, im not comparing , i do know that we are all different and we all did, do, or will test the waters.
I am a vet in most ways (3rd wls) but i cant remember all the steps to losing all my weight when i had the band in 2006. So i was just wanted to read and brush up on alot especially RNY since this is new to me..
I actually remember you from when i was on here years ago... Congrats on your weightloss.. You look great!
Happy Friday!
Hi Sleeved,
I feel as though I must have missed part of the question, or did you post an earlier question that I didn't see indicating you had eaten chocolate and were now having a stall? I just thought you wanted to know if others had experienced a stall around 3 weeks post-op RNY.
At any rate, yes, I seem to recall experiencing stalls at about that same phase and later stages of my post-op RNY period. At about 6 weeks post-op I decided I wasn't going to get wrapped up in what the scale had to say and I opted instead to weigh myself much more infrequently. Providing I was seeing evidence of the weight loss by way of my clothing getting too loose, I wasn't concerned. I was still seeing my PCP monthly and she was monitoring my weight.
I do believe that when we weigh ourselves too often it can lead to discouragement since anybody's weight can fluctuate daily, as the result of water consumption or hormones, for example. I would try weighing in perhaps once weekly. I think this may give you a better picture of your overall progress. And don't forget those NSVs--they are a sure indicator that things are headed in the right direction.
Best of luck with your new RNY; I think you'll ultimately be very happy that you had this surgery!
Hi JulianaBella,
Yes Juliana my question regarding the 3 week stall had nothing to do with a post i replied to on Valentines Day!
Yes the post i replied to i believe it was of course regarding Valentines day chocolate and food for the day. i dont recall it could have been on of the "What are you eating today"
At any rate i appreciate all the positive, encouraging, and personal experiences from all *****plied.
Yes again i am over consumed with weighing everyday and sometimes 2x a day but for me it keeps me on track for my day although i do know that our weight fluctuates during the week..
Yes i know of the NSV's, i am seeing results in my clothes(looser) and with just about 14 lbs off i've had so many compliments on my weight loss and i feel better too..
Thank you for sharing your experiences and i hope you have a
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Oh Sleeved, I'm so glad you are getting compliments from others who are noticing your weight loss. That's a great way that you know you're doing something right. And the fact that you feel better is also a very good sign. I remember the day that I could finally walk around the mall with my daughter for several hours. I think she was just as happy with my progress as I was, at that point.
