What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu, Valentines?
Thanks Daisydoo02,
The only reason im not having the dark chocolate now is because im so happy with my weight loss so far although i already had dark chocolate like a week post op i just let it sit on my tongue and sucked on it like it was hard candy...it didnt do anything to me thats another reason why i dont want to get use to eat it went down with no problem..
the LINDT EXCELLENCE 90% COCOA Dark Chocolate only has
Calories 200
total Fat 21%
total Carbohydrate 9 grams
Dietary Fiber 5 grams
TOTAL SUGAR 2 grams
Protein 4 grams
and i have added a square piece into my steamy hot coffee with premier shake cup for breakfast..
I think i am still in trial and error but im really paying alot of attention of what is going in my mouth..
and how i can or cannot tolerate it..
Thank you though and have a WONDERFUL VALENTINES DAY!
Please understand what I am about to say is to help you. I myself am a revision from band to bypass and I can honestly say that the first year I stuck to the plan 100%. Chocolate of any type was the furthest thing from my mind.
You are on your third WLS and to see that you have had chocolate at a week out concerns me. I don't care if it is dark chocolate or not there is no way it is on your surgeons plan. You are wasting valuable space in your pouch and calories on something that gives you absolutely NO type of nutritional value except that it tastes good.
Over the 10+ years I have been on OH I have literally seen it all. From folks who insist they want to take the weight loss and eat tons of unhealthy carbs, to those who at a week out were eating tacos. Then there are the ones who feel they can drink alcohol daily and it has no impact on them except they can't figure out why they are gaining weight. I have seen regain from every single WLS there is no perfect surgery it comes down to the individual and how serious they are about working the tool they received.
So please ditch the chocolate and stop justifying why you ate it.
Thanks Daisydoo02,
Dark Chocolate i just had a square but im ok..It came from a co-worker who doesnt know about my WLS but thinks (know, i told them) im on a low carb high protein diet and yes it came out of love..but no more didnt really even like it it was so bitter..lol..
back on track
have a great day!
Happy Valentine's day menu friends! Miss Lily and I skipped our long walk today and did a mile instead as it was 1 and with windchill felt like -4. We'll do at least another mile later, and with warmer temps tomorrow will get back to our regular routine. I am over this winter already and feel like I haven't been warm since September. Hubby's Valentine present to me was an appointment to get my hair colored today and then dinner out--son is paying the tab for that. I have housework to do today and start gathering clothes and doing laundry to head back to the warehouse at Chatham on Sunday. We're up there for 2 weeks of work this time and then home for one week before we head out for Arkansas in the camper to work at Camp Tanako near Hot Springs. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.2 today. Here's the food plan B 1/2c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 4 oz chicken salad D not sure but maybe part of an omelet. QOTD I usually drink flavored waters or regular or decaf coffee. Pic is of my best friend who is currently curled up right beside me. Sorry it's sideways.
Sweet Lily

Good Morning and Happy Fri-yay and Valentine's Day!! We don't have much planned for today aside from a few small fun gifts since our date and wedding anniversaries are so close. Accountability: all good in the hood.

Let it begin with me.

Mornin' All!
it's freezing again today. Other than a trip to an open house this afternoon that my friend wanted me to go to (with her, of course), I'm staying in. The weekend should be much more moderate. THANK GOD. No big plans for tonight. We haven't "done" Valentines Day in a long time!
QOTD: coffee, blended lattes (made with Fit Frappe, unsweetened cashew mil**** and COFFEE), and flavored waters. I can't drink plain water anymore except occasionally at restaurants. I used to drink it all the time pre-surgery, but for some reason I just can't anymore.
accountability wasn't great yesterday. I ate more than I'd planned at the luncheon's fajita bar (if I'd have just stuck to the chicken & vegetables, I would have been OK - but I had tortilla chips with guacamole & a blondie as well). Dinner I just had L&F yogurt, but then I got really hungry again so I made air-popped popcorn. Like too much of it. At least it really filled me up after awhile (and I'm still feeling it this morning - UGH!) but, way too many calories yesterday. I plan to really, really cut back the next couple of days.
B: 2 chaffles topped with 1/2 C plain Greek yogurt and 1/2 C homemade apple/cranberry compote, coffee with half & half
MS: none - breakfast was late plus my breakfast calories were higher than usual. Will wait until lunch...
L: 2 Costco chicken skewers, salad with light dressing
AS: Fit Frappe latte
D: I'm finally going to make the Thai curry dish for DH (chicken & broccoli - no rice). If I'm OK calorie-wise by then, then a little of that. Otherwise, I'll have a repeat of lunch
ex: if I'm brave enough to face the cold, I'll head over to the gym for 30-45 minutes on the bike or elliptical
have a great day, everyone!
