DH had converted a mobility scooter into a remote control snow plow and has just been waiting for the snow. He is driving me crazy praying for snow. I wish he lived in Chicago.

Mornin' All!

well some cold weather system blew in overnight, so we're going to have temperatures in the teens today and Friday (and below zero tonight!). Good Lord. Compared to last winter, this is paradise, but given the very ordinary winter we've had this year, THIS IS FREEZING!!! I don't even want to venture out these next two days, but there's a luncheon today that I have to go to (my friend, who arranges for the speakers, said she'd only accept that job if they "hired" the two of us on as a package deal - me being in charge of the A/V. I stupidly agreed). Anyway, I usually don't mind these luncheons, but I would really rather just stay in my toasty house today. Tomorrow the same friend wants to go to some open house that our local League of Women Voters is hosting (their new digs...). Given the temps tomorrow, again I'd really rather stay home, though....

anyway, no exercise today, unless I do something at home. Although yesterday I spent almost the entire morning at the gym doing yoga, cardio, AND weights, in preparation for potentially having to slack off today and tomorrow, so.. Anyway, temps will be back in the 30s this weekend as well as next week, so I just have to get through these next two days.

QOTD: I don't remember any scandals in high school, but in 9th grade (which was "junior high" back then), some girl blew up the third floor bathroom. She'd been in science class and they were working with some powder or chemical that the teacher told them would explode when mixed with water. So of course someone just HAD to sneak some out of class and dump it in a toilet...

Accountability was good yesterday given that I had lunch at a restaurant. I managed to stay within my calorie range (at the higher end - but still within range). YAY! If I can continue to eat at the low end of my range when I'm eating at home - and manage to at least stay within the range when I'm eating out, I should be good, right?? They're having a fajita bar for that luncheon today, so I should be able to handle this...

4 years 8 months out:

B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and homemade blueberry compote, coffee with half & half

MS: Fit Frappe

L: meat & veggies (from the "fajita bar")

AS: if needed, L&F yogurt and/or raw veggies with hummus or ranch Greek yogurt

D: I'm making a Thai curry (chicken and broccoli - no rice), but if I'm getting close to my calorie limit, I'll let DH eat that and I'll have a couple of Costco chicken skewers

have a great day, all!

I couldn't help but laugh at the bathroom exploding. I bet it scared everyone terribly at the time but a good chuckle looking back.

people STILL bring that up on my class Facebook page - 45 years later!!! It's a good thing no one was in the bathroom at the time - so no one got hurt!

Morning JB & Menu Makers! How is everyone?

JB I hope the day flies by for you and it goes smoothly with all those deadlines.

We got dumped on with snow last night, its so white and sparkly outside & so pretty. But along with this snow is a major deep freeze that I am not looking forward to since I am COLD.ALL.THE.TIME! Current temp is -4 C (25 F) and we are dropping tonight/tomorrow to -13 C (8 F). Brrrrrrrrrr

QOTD: That is hilarious on the jello wrestling debacle! Only thing I can think of that would be considered a scandal in High School I guess is one really popular good looking guy named Ken committed suicide. It turns out he was gay and very much trying to hide it from his family, friends, people at school but it got out and he was bullied and teased really really bad for it. He couldn't take it and ended his life. I was really rocked by his death, I knew him well and had a lot of classes with him, partied with him and went swimming over at his house and I had no idea that he was gay or that he was in such turmoil. It was horrible and really hit home for me that you just never know what other people are going through.

Have an awesome day everyone!
