What's on your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
on 2/13/20 1:41 am
Morning all, I have to make this quick--I need to get in super early to meet a zillion scary deadlines.
That bear, tho--so much yes.
Accountability: Not perfect. I skipped lunch because of the timing of meetings and then I grabbed what I found in my desk for the trip home--half a protein bar, & some cheese thing. Both were good to keep on hand when I was doing Keto but terrible for WW! I need to reevaluate the emergency snacks in my desk...
QOTD: Did your HS have a scandal or something everyone talked about? No scandals for us, outside of a few unplanned pregnancies. But I do remember that we were trying to do a fundraiser for one of our athletic teams and for some reason they said we could hold a jello wresting match (what could go wrong?...lol!)! Anyway, at the time (1990ish) there was a big fad to wear "co-ed naked" shirts and so we had a bunch made that said "co-ed naked jello wresting" to sell. I guess that was where we crossed line--the whole event was canceled. Kids were wildly upset and there were protests, but the administration didn't budge. But what it really did was drive up the price of those t-shirts! Everyone wanted one!
Having trouble with my menu pic today, but the plan is:
B: Fit Frappe with Coffee & 2 eggs (1 pt)
L: Salad & 1/2 Tuna sandwich (7 pts)
D: Tilapia Tacos (3 pts)
S: Apple, Cheese Stick (1 pt)
No plan for exercise--long day ahead!

We had a substitute teacher come to a party and drink with us in the woods. He never got disciplined though!

Good morning! I have my WW weigh-in this morning and should squeak back under my lifetime max by .2 pounds. I have been the same weight for 3 days with super low points!
QOTD: No scandals, but I was one of the unplanned pregnancies. I got married in the spring of my Junior year and eldest DD was born in the fall of my Senior year when I was 17. I finished HS at night. I was in the top 5 of my class of about 700, so I am sure there was a lot of talk. I never regretted having my daughter though and ultimately gained both Bachelors and Masters degrees.
TSS: 3 years, 10.5 months
B: Eggs, salsa, and coffee
L: Sliced chicken and laughing cow cheese wedge
D: ??? (Dinner at the clubhouse)

That's awesome. I have a friend from book club who is a super successful college professor and she waited like 5 years to "admit" to our group that she was a teen mom. Obviously she did well for herself and raised an awesome daughter so I was so surprised that she still felt the shame of it...

Different times... Back then we either married or gave the child up for adoption. I married, but divorced 5 years later. I married my DH at the age of 26 and he adopted eldest DD, so people always assumed it was a first marriage.

Good morning, everybody!
We got about six inches of snow last night, so everything is white and beautiful this morning. It's one of those storms where the temperature drops way down after the snow, so its freezing outside this morning. I have a meeting in the suburbs today, so I am home this morning getting prepared.
I'm super excited because tickets for the Dead & Company summer tour go on sale. I am going to get both Wrigley Field shows, and I am going with a friend to the Detroit show. I have another friend that lives in Saratoga Springs, NY, so if they are going I will probably go to SPAC as well. Summer evening concerts sound so warm on this snowy February morning. There must be a separate West Coast tour planned because nothing is West of Colorado.
We are doing the Kelly workout today, I will report back on that tomorrow.
QOTD: One of our housemasters got arrested for selling drugs, but not to students.
Breakfast: Ham and cottage cheese
Snack: Protein bar
Lunch: Turkey
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!
