Morning! Where was everybody, yesterday?!? I can't remember the last day when we only had a few posters on a weekday... Hope everyone is doing okay.

I finally have a few things share for Photo Friday!

First, a pic of Grim outside of Lego Land. We finally found someone taller than him!

A pic of me at Red Sox Truck Day.

This is me and my best buddy, Fezzik. He always sits with me (right in that exact spot), when I post my menu every morning. So this is basically what you can picture when you imagine me posting! (He's here right now!)

Accountability: Sadly we didn't get to go to out for dinner last night, so I ended up just coming home and having a Smart Ones frozen dinner. Points were fine and I logged a 1/2 hour on the elliptical.

QOTD: What is your favorite international cuisine flavor? I just love the favors in authentic Mexican food--especially Southern Mexico--with black beans, seafood, limes... YUM. I'd go with Thai food as a close second!

I have my first weigh in tomorrow, and I am hoping to see some real results! I'll report back :)

HA, I forgot to add the zero point EGGS to my breakfast, lol. I am not just having ketchup...

Morning! It's super windy here this morning after a stormy day yesterday. They released the kids early from school but not early enough and most of them ended up walking home in severe storms. Fail for them! Luckily we only live one block from school.

QOTD: I'd say my favorites are Indian Food and Japanese. I love Sushi, and would eat it daily if I could.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x2
  • Egg & Sweet Potato
  • Lunch TBD, we're going out. I will probably pick seared Ahi Tuna Sandwich turned into a salad.
  • Orange Chicken & Broccoli
  • Apple w/ PB

Good Morning! I hope the WW weigh in goes well. You always look so on top of your planning meals and your activity. Hashtag goals, lol.

QOTD - all food cultures. Seriously. I could find something to love and overindulge just about anywhere in the world. I just love food. :/

I have been busy with the kids. I swear the older teens and adults keep me busier some days than the toddlers and younger ones. I am struggling to keep the house in order, rally the "crew" and keep them fed and full of yummy food without any nibbling or taste testing and all the normal mom stuff.

My menu has been pretty basic but I am ok with that right now because it is keeping me on track. Usually, a protein shake with my morning coffee and Miralax, vitamins before I start on my daily water attempt. Some type of lean meat, cheese, kimchi and pickles for lunch around the afternoon, HB egg for snack if needed later and sometimes refried beans and pico de gallo or other tex mex type stuff later (my downfall and I have to really be careful to pace my eating and keep an eye on portion size or I get super sick all night). I try to ge****er in between meals and that is always my challenge, it seems.

I started trying to get some daily activity in on the treadmill again this week. I am slow but moving. My focus is on balance and regaining core strength right now, very basic, nothing fancy.

I am doing well on the switch to Blue from Purple. I am on online-only member and am considering going to TOPS for weekly weigh-ins and support. I think they have a more supportive atmosphere with games and fun events from what I remember and I found a group that meets in the mornings not far from where I live, which is what I was looking for. They don't give out a meal plan so I am free to follow my modified WW/bariatric plan while still giving and receiving support and accountability.

TOPS is a good idea. I think that's what I'm needing most of all - the support and regular weigh-in (for accountability). I went to one meeting several years ago and didn't find it too helpful, but there are SEVERAL groups around here, so I may find one that's more serious. I'll check around...

Online only is an option and they have chats and support for that and you still get the magazine and can order cute things from their store, but I am really going to try to find a group. I might see if my proxy MIL will attend with me too.

I think I went back before they had the magazine, etc - I just checked and now they're charging (I'm pretty sure TOPS used to be free when I went), but it's really cheap - $32 a year. So that's probably why they now offer a magazine and online resources. Hmmm. I'll look into it further...this could work.

If you join, the membership section has PDFs of former issues as well as fun, motivational tools and calendars to print. I found it useful. I need something fun right now iykwim?

ok no pics for me this morning the interwebs are not working. so went home at lunch yesterday to check the damage on the house and luckily the water had receded mostly back into the creek. the house didn't FLOOD thank god but it was at the back steps.

I went to this spin class called cycle bar and I wanted to die 5 minutes into the class. most of it was standing pedaling.... seriously... on like 9th gear... I've taken 2 other classes like this and they were not like this. I'm not a fan of this so I think I will stick with something I enjoy more...

After I got home I made a ground chicken shirataki noodle dish with mushroom and cabbage/ and a turkey breast rotisserie and roasted cabbage

QOTD: INDIAN FOOD hands down- and its not the naan and rice- its the CURRY!!!!

Mornin' All!

the testing at the hospital went OK yesterday. I was a little alarmed that my cholesterol had gone up to 170 (it's usually around 140-150), but the nurse practitioner looked at me like I was nuts. She pointed out that my HDL has gone WAY up (which is good), which is almost certainly due to the big increase in exercise these last couple of months. The "bad" parts of my cholesterol profile had gone up somewhat (although still well within the normal range), but I'm thinking that might be due to the fact I've been eating more fat lately, too (not full Keto - but I've increased my fat intake so I'm satisfied longer). So...all is good. I just liked seeing those 140-150 numbers!!! Really good news is that I won't have to do the lumbar puncture at my next visit - just the MRI - because of my osteoporosis. YAY!! I HATE lumbar punctures. I never thought I'd be grateful for my osteoporosis, though...

I'm going to go to water aerobics at 8:30 and I'll head to campus later to attend a public lecture on vaccines. I don't know why I registered for this lecture, but at least it gets me out of the house for a few hours. No house = no snacking. Plus I'll get a little walking in since I'm going to take the bus (and will have to walk from the bus stop to the building and back).

QOTD: probably Indian the most. I love everything I've ever had that's Indian. I also like a lot of Mexican food - esp those authentic tacos (the ones on the 4-6" corn tortillas with just meat, onion, and cilantro). I also like Thai curries, green papaya salad, and chicken satay. Oh - and that mango-over-sweet-rice dessert (also Thai).

4 years 8 months out:

B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and homemade blueberry sauce, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: Beyond Burger on a "sandwich thin" with lettuce, tomato, and light Thousand Island

AS: if needed, baby carrots with hummus or ranch Greek yogurt dip

D: I think I'll make an Indian curry (vegetables & paneer)

have a great day, everyone!
