Constipation on pre op?

Not medical advice but my GI and my bariatric team cleared me for daily miralax, (actually my GI said I could increase it to more than once a day for my specific situation). Laxatives can be harsh and habit forming but miralax works differently. I would be proactive because with surgery coming up you definitely don't want to be constipated. Getting your water in every single day helps and is pretty essential for a number of reasons. I tried chia seeds but I got pretty sick...everyone is different though.

Yea I've made sure to up my water to 64 ounces plus because I know that constipation usually happens after surgery....I got everything that I need from Amazon coming today. Miralax, colace, ducolace I bought a case which i find easy for me to drink..... I start my clear liquid on monday.

That is smart thinking! I have all of the run of the mill suggestions including the big guns if the lesser daily things don't work. (Big guns for me would be like...2 or 3 days of being miserable I would do the mag citrate with GI approval...sticking very close to home of course. Oy vey.) I hope everything goes well for you as you approach your surgery and get through recovery.
