What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Hi all,
Week one of two weeks of travel...sigh...so my menu is a bit up in the air. I plan to have a salad with protein for lunch and dinner, and breakfast is a crapshoot. The issue is the SNACKS in the office. I have to reign it in!
Such an interesting QOTD and so fascinating to see the answers. Some of you I agree with - Tom Cruise ruins everything, and I used to watch Top Gun at like every sleepover in 8th grade but I am not sure I can see the new one. But I think Laura Dern is amazing - she was phenomenal in Big Little Lies and I really want to see Marriage Story too! Jen - I can't believe you hate Oprah! I was always a sorta fan until she did a keynote speech at a conference I was at and I fell for her, hook...line...and sinker. She was so inspiring and authentic (I felt). I mean granted she was making like $50k for an hour of work so she could have been faking but man, she was incredible!
If anyone here says they don't like Meryl Streep, I think we won't be friends anymore ;)
Anyway, in the absence of a set menu, I just felt compelled to say hi and check in.
On a positive note, next week my meetings are in Cocoa Beach, FL and it's supposed to be in the 70s. Woohoo!

I am 100% that my BFF and i are the only two people that aren't Oprah fans, lol. I will always watch anything Meryl does!

Good morning menu crew!
last night was rough, very rough. Another night of tears and tossing & turning. I at least have an appointment with a neurosurgeon on the 17th. Some light in this long tunnel.
qotd: good question! Tom Cruise and John Travolta are amongst mine. Not a fan of the Scientology crap. Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Jon Voight, Angelina Jolie. Oh and Adam Sandler...ugh.
food was bad last night. I let my pain feed into my emotions and I feed it with food. Stupid of me...just stupid.
b:PP shake and light & fit yogurt
s:protein crisps
l:cauliflower & potato soup with shredded cheese
s:baby bell cheese, beef jerky
d:cooked cabbage 2 tbs cheese

Please don't be so hard on yourself,Melody! Being in constant pain is debilitating and causes depression and emotional eating for me too. You aren't alone. Take it one choice at a time. When you make a poor choice stop it right there and pledge to make your next choice a better one. Praying your upcoming appointment brings a plan and some much needed relief.

Hang in there as best you can right now...give yourself some grace and make the best choices you can in the cir****tances. It's a marathon:-)

Thanks!
not been a great day but I'm trying to go easy on myself.
I'm so frustrated with the pain and myself. I feel worthless for not being able to help out much around the house. It's hard to let things go sometimes...esp with yourself. The injection has completely worn off and has for a while now. I had my hopes up way to much for those.
thank you again, it is appreciated!

Morning! I'm having one of those days where everything is ******g me off. 1) My husband went and planned a work thing, on a Saturday, on the only day his family will be here this year. WTAF? 2) Credit Karma let me know about some of my data that was included in a data breach and suggested I lock my credit. I went in to do that and Experian charges you to put a lock on your credit. How is that even a thing?! Ugh. 3) Does anyone else get annoyed for the idealistic crap that people post on LinkedIn? It's super great that you made the "hard decision" to leave your job and tour around Europe for 9 weeks and then had a job in 2 days at a company "you're passionate about" when you came back - but most of us can't just quit our jobs, kthanks.
BLARGH! I need more coffee. Or wine. Probably just coffee.
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x2
- Egg, Cheese, English Muffin
- Hotdog, Cucumber, Cheese (made my "lunchable" with leftover hotdog instead of turkey)
- Broccoli Cheddar Soup
- I have an apple with PB for a snack today
I broke up with my PT yesterday since it wasn't helping at all. I will continue the exercises at home. But, I really wish I could put here that I'm running. I miss it a LOT.
