What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
Hi JB and team,
Ugh, adult men who have temper tantrums are so heinous. I had that happen once in a workshop in our NYC office. A German man stood up and screamed "this is BULL****!" and pounded his hand on the desk. An awkward silence descended...he then moved to the other side of the room and we all continued working and trying not to make eyes at each other (we couldn't discuss it since he was nearby). It was AWFUL. And I'm with Karen - it greatly saddens and horrifies me that our Commander in Chief throws tempter tantrums...
QOTD: Nope, I do not like spiders or any bugs. Kris is severely traumatized about ****roaches and will pretty much pack up and move if he ever sees one. But he kills all the other bugs. We have never had a roach at our house, but we saw some (!!!) at a rental house on a NC beach. When we called the property manager, they just drawled, "Oh honeeyyyy, those there are palmetto bugs, and allll the houses on the beach have them". Nope, that was not cool.
I haven't been here because I accepted the new job (a promotion!) at work and my work-life balance has gone to hell. I have two open roles, only one approved headcount, and more work than I could do in an 80-hour week. I am definitely having some regrets...
B: Costco rotisserie chicken and Boursin cheese
L: Leftover greek chicken thigh (I marinated them in greek yogurt, olive oil, z'atar and lemon juice and Kris grilled them - they are delicious!)
D: Might have to be chicken again, maybe with a little rice on the side
E: Kickbox cardio.
Have a great day, everyone!

Congratulations on the new role...hopefully you'll be able to figure out your new normal and get back to a better work life balance (and get some resources to help).

UGH. I used to work in IT for the state (before I became a librarian). We used to ***** & complain that our colleagues in the private sector made so much more than we did (and many of them do), but we generally worked 40-60 hour weeks. Not 80-100 hour weeks. It was worth the trade off, IMHO. I couldn't live with my life-work balance way off-kilter like that. I hope it improves a bit as you become more acclimated to the job.

Hi!! I had a crap work week last week so didn't get on much, this week I'm traveling and other than coffee and protein, my ability to menu plan is non-existent so I've been lurking versus posting but I am here!! Back to normal next week and will try not to let work stress derail my participation!
I miss you guys when I'm "gone".

It only takes me a few days to worry about Chris because I know he is working too hard.

Even if people can't post every day, it makes me happy to hear from them every once in awhile.
