did they scan you on the same machine? Losing 5 lbs of muscle in two weeks doesn't seem possible. Or if it was the same machine, maybe there was something up with one of the readings? That just seems very odd to me.

Mornin' Everyone!

well the woman I met with yesterday to start prepping for the trip to Japan in spring 2021 does assume I am going. If she wasn't planning to have us do most of the things I did during my first trip there 20-ish years ago, I'd probably go, but I'm not sure about this. A lot of her target audience has already been to Japan - and on one of the cultural exchanges that she seems to want to mimic to boot. Are they really going to want to go to the exact same places and do the exact same things? I'm not sure I do. Well, I have time to him & haw about this, at least. She wants me to go to breakfast with her this morning (she doesn't drive). At IHOP. Ugh. I checked the menu - they do have a few items that are around 600 kcal. I can order one of those and eat half of it. Something with protein. Which would not include pancakes :-(

this afternoon I have to take my mother to an ophthalmology appt. I also have a couple of things to do re: this trip to Japan (i.e., scanning an announcement flyer and emailing it out to the people who've been on cultural exchanges over the years). And I need to exercise since I didn't do anything yesterday. Cardio for sure (there's a Zumba class tonight) - and probably weights - although I could do weights tomorrow instead (my quads are still pretty sore from last time). Other than that, ??

QOTD: spiders don't bother me. I guess my parents hammered it into my head that "spiders are good - they eat other bugs". Or something like that.

4 years 7 months out:

B: half of some entree that has a lot of protein in it (maybe an omelet??), coffee with half & half

MS: probably nothing since I'll have a heavier-than-usual breakfast, but I'll get a protein shake in sometime today

L: salad with diced turkey and light dressing

AS: protein shake if I don't have it this morning. Otherwise L&F yogurt or protein pumpkin pudding (thanks, Liz!)

D: chili. We need to finish this up...

have a great day, all!

Funny question about spiders, they do kinda freak me out. Especially the one time that I was walking in my house and saw a spider moving on the wall. When I stopped it stopped. As I approached, it jumped from the wall onto me. I was swearing and yelling - my wife thought there was an intruder in the house. Damn thing got away. I don't run and hide when I see one, but it makes me freeze for a second. Then I grab tissue and squish, except for that Kamikaze spider. Damn spider.

Accountability was pretty good. I did have some dried apple and a few pieces of dark chocolate that was unplanned. But my blood sugar was okay this morning.

PWO - 1/3 protein bar cookie

B - 2 eggs (so wanted to eat a blintz that they cooked at work, but then I remembered they add so much sugar to the filling. So walked away)

L - Chicken burger, salad

S - Cheese and dried salami (1 oz)

D - Salad and BBQ pulled pork that I make with 2g sugar sauce (per portion and I don't use much).

Weight was down 2 from Monday.

Good morning! Happy HUMP day!

QOTD - Not even a little bit. I am the spider rescuer, I don't kill them. If they are in my house and need to be gone (not a friendly house dweller like a wolf spider), then I will catch it and place it outside. We get all sorts of critters here in San Antonio. I just can't kill them, it's unnecessary. Roaches however, can die a fiery death in HELL, and I gladly send them there.

Breakfast - none, hot tea/coffee since fasting until noon

Lunch - Potato soup, beyond burger wrap (flat out wrap with hummus, kale salad and beyond burger)

Snack - 1/2 peanut butter and jelly on multi grain

Dinner - really not sure, but thinking salad and some type of grain.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

I feel that way about ants, I have the little sugar ants and they have been terrible this year. I do have a pest control company out quarterly but they still keep showing up. I know you're not supposed to squish them but it feels so good when you do...die ant die...

I dump some borax into sugar water (it'll keep forever in a covered jar in the fridge - but don't drink it!!) and then soak a few cotton balls in it. The sugar attracts them. They take the borax back to their nest and it kills them - and everyone else back in the nest. They're usually gone in two or three days. If you have pets, you have to put the cotton balls where the pet can't get to them, though. It's probably not enough borax to kill a pet, but it could make them sick...
