What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?

Gooooood morning everyone! I thought I made it through the worst of meeting-palooza, but ugh... another meeting today that I originally thought would just be an hour is gearing up to be another marathon/fight. Yesterday I watched a grown man (principal) have an actual temper tantrum. Who does that?
Accountability: Meh, it was an ok day. I had a handful of pretzels at the end of the temper tantrum meeting. I need to stop this mindless eating... Anyway I fit it into my points by having a lower point dinner, but I should be saving up my points for a pizza party on Friday, so today I am focusing more on zero point foods for the rest of the week, and plan to only eat 11 points for the day today. I am also trying to be better about hydration since I am battling another stupid cold.
QOTD: Are you scared of spiders? I don't like hanging out with them or anything, but I'm not scared of them at all. My dad is, though! He and his brother watched a scary spider movie in the 1950s and both of them were terrified of spiders ever since. We always made fun of him about it, but then about 10 years ago my dad was in Vegas and got bitten by a spider that paralyzed part of his face for a few months! Eeeeeee!

Morning! I have trainings to conduct this morning on the opposite side of campus from my office. I hope it warms up a bit before I get done with them and I can walk the 2 miles back to my office.
QOTD: I really don't like spiders, although I wouldn't say I have a phobia of them or anything. Funny enough watching the Lucas The Spider videos on YouTube has helped!
My Food:
- Coffee w/ Cream x2
- Egg & Cheese
- Either Chicken Noodle Soup or Deli Meat & Cheese w/ Veggies, I have to see how much leftover soup there is after I portion it out for the kid's lunch
- Hotdog and Brussel Sprouts. I'm making homemade Mac & Cheese for the family, but I know that will kill my blood sugar so I won't have more than a bite.

Good morning all! Well I?m a little bummed after my doctors appointment yesterday. Not only was I 4 pounds more than what I weighed at home (I known I know....difference in scale, fully dressed and after eating breakfast, but I was still bummed). I also was bummed that they told me I was successful and had reached the 64 percent of my expected weight loss and were happy with my progress. And now according to them I am reaching my maintenance stage. Well that just won?t do. I still have another 50 pounds I?d like to lose if not a little more. I expressed this to her and she said since I?m young and with exercise that I may be able to lose another 25 pounds. What??? I mean don?t get me wrong. I am so grateful for losing what I have and would have never been able to do it without this surgery, but I am in no way, shape or form done with losing! I know it will be harder to lose the further I get out from surgery, but I?m determined to work hard and make it happen. I guess my appointment yesterday just gave me less hope.
QOTD: I am very afraid of spiders! Not as bad as my father though, but I still don?t like them! When my dad was a child he had a spider fall and bite him on his eye. His whole eye got really swollen and he said it was very painful. Ever since then he has been deathly afraid.

Don't let it frustrate you or derail you. Your measure of success and their clinical measure of success don't have to be the same thing. Keep working, keep your focus and work toward your goal.

The Drs have no way of knowing where you end up. They have some sort of measurement they apply to themselves so they can claim a certain success rate but you don't need to let it define you. Some surgeons never even set healthy goal weights for patients because they figure even a 10% loss is better for their patient's long term health. Popp**** We can all be healthier. I understand your feelings of frustration with them but you have an entire forum of RNY patients who are showing you otherwise every day. You got this. You know in your (altered, lol) gut that you can do more and aren't finished. That is a huge advantage to know and believe. It will guide you towards your goals.
Don't let other people put limits on you. A number of the people on here worked away at it for 2 years plus to get to their goal. I know you can do it.

when I got to 170, my "team" was elated. I told them I wanted to get down to a normal BMI (which at my height ends at 154). Their congratulatory tone immediately soured. They said they've had patients who've made it that far, but very few (probably only around 10%), but it's very unrealistic to make that my goal. That was all the incentive I needed to keep pushing through...
there are lots of people on here who've made it down to a normal BMI, so if you want to do that, keep at it! Yes - it's hard work - those last 20 lbs or so are a bear to get off, but it can be done if you put your mind to it!
They told me the same thing after my 1 year and I lost 45 lbs more. I actually was still losing up to my 2 year anniversary in December of this year. I just had to prove them wrong and I did. You can too. Stay strong

I've found the docs are way more skeptical of super high pound weight loss and keeping it off. I lost waaay under what they said for me to- but had to eat 800 calories to do so plus exercise. then they warned me about bounce back and I did gain some plus some more on top.
You do what is best for you!!! you can do it if you want it!~~
