Hey RNYers! What is on your photo Friday menu?
Good Morning
Snuggled on my couch drinking hot stuff. Late start with work today. The plus and minus of working Retail - sometimes I get a lot done in those morning hours and sometimes it is just vegging on couch.
QOTD: We are already at the last week of January- ack! How are you doing on your ?I need to get my act together in the New Year? decisions?
For me putting the brakes on holiday eating took a lot longer than it should have- got called on carpet by trainer for freelance eating. Ha. Better this week. Scale down 5lbs in a week just from stopping overindulgences.
Photos: Me in my GNC red, current state, and my Personal Record of back squatting 175lbs.
- Frittata
- Butter Chicken, toasted veggies
- turkey on salad
- S: yogurt, protein

no pics for me- just got into work and have all day meetings - seems back to back today which is unusual... Maybe I will be lucky and some will reschedule.
Accountability: had unplanned protein bar last night and some peanut butter before bed, it was tired exhausted eating not hungry eating since for me that doesn't exist. back on it today.
schedule was wonky yesterday but got my hours in- laptop outlook still broken and no one will call me from tech team and it is still ******g me off to high heaven.
we are staying in town this weekend, haven't been back to GA since new years day- I missing it a bit but DH can't do a 2 hour ride so we are sticking around. Eye apt at 4:20 today so have to book it there straight after work.

QOTD: I have not lost the pounds I expected this month but I have also not gained overall - so I suppose that is a win for me considering the last 2 years...
Looking good Cynthia! My picture is also of my exercise yesterday: brisk walking on the beach with Justice. He runs around like a crazy boy off leash and is so joyful!
QOTD: I didn't make a New Years resolution, but I did rejoin WW in mid-December to get some control. I am down 5.5 pounds since then (about 10 to go).
3 years, 10 months post WLS

Love the picture Liz.
I always say when you are first out of surgery it is standard issue- everybody does the same thing. In maintenance I realized 2 things- there is a range of normal, you will not be one number on the scale all the time and it does not mean you have regained....
And second- you have to figure out what works for you. Glad WW is helping.

Yeah, I needed the weekly public weighing to get control. And I need to get back into some of my favorite clothes. I have stayed in normal BMI, but want to be lower in it. My goal now is about 5 pounds above where I hovered for the first couple of years after WLS (I probably should revise my signature at some point...).

Morning C & co. I am doing a quick check in because my morning was already super hectic and rather than just jump into work and risk making mistakes, I want to take a moment of Zen before I have to start the complicated stuff... ****deep breaths****
I looked on my phone for pics to post this week and I only have pictures of the whiteboards from my meetings and few random cat pics... Not a good week. BUT, I will have awesome pics to post next week because tomorrow, Grim and I are meeting Cary Elwes from the Princess Bride! I'm so excited :)
Accountability: Much better day yesterday although I had some of the tortilla chips with my steak tacos... No M&Ms or vodka though, lol.
QOTD: Mostly really good. My goal has been to stay under 20 carbs and I have done it for a full month with the exception of 3 days. I haven't found time for exercise though and that needs to start back up next week after the intense budget season winds down.
Eats:
B: Protein Coffee & Egg Bites
L: HB Egg, Celery & Jalapeño Cream Cheese
D: Unsure. I keep meaning to actually cook and I have the ingredients, but I have been too exhausted to do anything except microwave so if I am honest I will probs have low carb chicken nuggets.

Mmmm.... tacos
I may need to resurrect my month of a taco everyday I did last May. The low carb street taco tortillas make it so doable. Shrimp, steak, turkey, chorizo... mmmm
Hang in there friend.
And Eek! Have fun this weekend!

Happy Fri-Yay, All! We made it.
There is a lot of constipation talk on OH. Between high protein diets, vitamin supplements, pain medicine, and difficulty getting fluid and movement shortly after surgery, its a problem for many. Much has been written on the topic by our Prousts of poop, Balzacs of the bowel movement.
Unfortunately for one gentleman in Jiangsu Province of China, he did not have access to our vast repository of constipation literature. Had he spent a little time on OH, he probably would have tried Miralax. Instead he went in a different direction.
Swamp eels.
According to News reports, the man, who preferred to remain nameless (probably not a surprising choice) swallowed two live 20 inch swamp eels in an attempt to provide relief to his frozen bowels.
While I can offer no assurances as to the veracity of this report, I can only think that regrettable choice comes down to an imbalance in the fellow's education. Too much Metaphysics and too little Geometry.
Like any Aristotelean scholar he realized that he needed to match form with function. Drawing on his vast knowledge of the human anatomy, he surely understood the need to find a protagonist that could snake through the twists and turns of his intestines and colon, all the while pushing at his desiccated excrement like a trained seal playing volleyball. What better vessel to do this than the eel? Long, lithe, and strong.
However, being deficient in Geometry, he forgot about Archimedes of Syracuse. Sadly, the eel didn't. Realizing that a the shortest distance between two points is a straight line, the eel bored through our unfortunate friend's colonic wall and headed for daylight.
Doctors were able to repair the damage and the gentleman is resting.
