Do you think that as bariatric patients we have an advantage? I am thinking that although the tools of WW are similar to what we are told to do bariatrically, it is somewhat different. I think between WW accountability, (tracking) and "protein first", if I separate foods I can tolerate or eat into groups of green, yellow and red as far as trigger foods or nutrient density, etc. I should have a nice sharp tug towards back on track. I can't tolerate over indulging on unlimited "zero point" food bariatrically, even if I can eat without keeping protein in mind it would be unwise to do so. I think WLS gives us a tighter set of limits. This is not a bad thing for me.
I think we have an advantage in terms of built-in portion control. But as we all know, if we eat bad stuff like simple carbs, we can gobble up a lot of calories without skipping a beat.

hi all
didn't see a QOTD so will come back later for that.
well- the floors are IN and we have a king size bed!! as of last night! I'm soooo happy now to get used to a new room. the porch light was shining in last night so didn't sleep too well but I was so happy for the space.
I didn't eat well Friday and sat and was in a real funk. I still have issues balancing food mentally.
made it to the gym at 6:15 this morning to work out. it was a shorter workout I felt pressed for time. Then one guy reeked of smoke and another was letting so major wind and probably needed to potty... it was painful
food for today
protein bar breakfast-
coffee
water
more coffee
chicken and veggies (Mexican style)
chicken and kale/spinach
not sure on dinner - I REALLY want protein pancakes

man, that gym experience sounds rough. My sense of smell is even stronger after surgery and that would have been really difficult to handle for me :/ I hope that the act of getting to the gym will be enough to boost you through and keep you balanced. What is your time since surgery? Edited to say I see your time since surgery is 2015.
Good morning Karen,Miss Lily and Menuers,
I am not gonna lie things have been a little crazy with the scale as of late. After being put on a thyroid pill 2 weeks ago for Hyperthyroidism I see the scale creeping up with very little to no change in my diet. I truly want to cry when I get on the scale but I am going to have to figure this out by tracking weighing measuring. Funny I have to do the things I was told I would need to do in the very beginning. I guess the honeymoon is over.
This couldn't come at a worse time with vacation right around the corner.
Accountability; I made some keto Cinnamon buns and had trail mix which I did not need and the Keto cinnamon buns weren't worth in. They looked good but not so much unless I just got a crap recipe.
