Thank you. I am really struggling right now but I know I have to dig myself out of this mess.

Reign it in and stay with us. We'll lend all the support we can. By any chance is there a physical support in your area? I go to one every other month and it seems to help if I am slipping.

I am not aware of any physical meetings in my area but I do know 1 other local bariatric patient. We try to encourage each other but we have different surgeries. I am not intimately familiar with their plans but they semi recently had a conversion surgery and seem to be doing well. I feel pretty isolated in real life, I guess

Reach out to your current Bariatric practice to see if the can recommend a physical support. They will know best.

It is a long story but I don't think that is an option for me. I had my bariatric surgery at 1 practice and then received follow up care when I had complications at home later at this practice. I didn't go through their program per se and have not felt supported emotionally. I went through a lot medically there and TBH I have sort of a PTSD response to the practice after everything. I really feel like what I have online and the practices I choose to put into place are what I have to work with. I have read some things here on OH that have let me know that my struggles are not unique and they can be overcome, but it is the choices I make that will add up or subtract from my success. I have to face that.

Definitely not putting yourself in a triggering position with the medical practice is a good piece of self awareness.

The good news is that there are so many virtual options -- I found this forum to be the best for me, but I joined a couple of facebook groups, lurked on other bariatric websites to see if they also worked (they didn't, this group of people is the BEST!); they weren't for me but I could see there were a lot of people that they were for. My .02$ is that it's more important to find what works for you, to adapt when/if it stops meeting your goals and to just keep working. Everyday you are not giving up, is a day moving forward!
