My first intro to PB was through a college friend who at the time was dating an American. She kept raving about this "burro di nocciola" - literal translation of peanut butter, so I asked her to bring it to class. I couldn't even picture how they could get butter out of nuts! When she opened the jar the smell just knocked me off my seat. I think I was traumatized that day and never liked it.
Fast forward 10 years, me living in US and having two American kids who ask for PB&J for their lunches. I literally had to put a mask on my nose in order not to gag while making their darn PB&Js. The sacrifices moms do for their kids! ;)

I brought a jar of PB home from India. It has no sugar in it. Like. None. Nor artificial sweetener. I'm still not sure if I like it...

I don't mind Kale- but I need all leafy veggies to be finely shredded/chopped to be palatable.

QOTD: since surgery I tried beef jerky and pork rinds for the first time. Not in the regular rotation but I do not hate them.

Got my ass verbally kicked by the trainer today because as he put it I have been freelancing my food. And - it does not work that way. Ha. Yup. That cracked me up. Good description. No tracking meat and veggies yes. Other stuff yes too.

All the carb loading has helped in the gym though. Hit some personal records I am happy about. Squatted 175# and deadlifted 185#. Woop!

Food:

  • protein drink (workout)
  • protein drink and banana
  • turkey cold cut and cucumbers
  • taco salad
  • flounder and ?
  • Casein

rx: gym. Finished

Hello all! It's 16 degrees today with freezing rain on the way. Ugh...hate freezing rain.

QOTD: Before RNY, I didn't care much for coffee but after I look forward to my morning coffee. Fried foods upset my stomach before but I would eat things like chicken and French fries when eating out. Now I don't care for fried anything.

Eats today:

B- oatmeal w/peanut butter & walnuts

B2 - Premier protein

Lunner (lunch/dinner together): Lasagna 1/2 portion; salad

Evening snacks: Greek yogurt, strawberries; not sure what else

Scale showed 4 lbs down.
