Morning! We are being spoiled with such wonderful winter weather. I love days where it's already 60 degrees when you wake up, but it's not hot during the day. It makes dressing for work so much easier. I think this will be our last day before the temps drop for awhile and I'll have to go back to winter jackets.

QOTD: Olives! I never used to eat in anything and now I eat them almost daily as a side dish/snack.

My Food:

  • Coffee w/ Cream x2
  • Egg, Cheese, English Muffin
  • Salami, Cheese, and Cucumber
  • Chicken Thighs and Veggies

I have PT today so we'll see if she gives me new exercises to do. My hip is still feeling about the same.

Hope your PT goes well and you get some new options. Have you had warm olives? I thought "that's odd" but once I tried them, I love them.

Good morning all. Been kind of blah the past couple of days. Not sure what was going on Monday, but I was not feeling well at all. Had this horrible pain in the upper part of my stomach, felt bloated and had no appetite. I've had this pain a couple times before, but Monday was the worst. Thought maybe it could be gallstones, but not sure. Anyone have any experience with this? I see my doctor on the 28th so I'll definitely be bringing it up.

QOTD: well there wasn't much I didn't like pre surgery, but I wasn't a big veggie eater. Now I love them! I don't care what kind of veggie it is I'll eat it. Also before surgery I would not use any kind of artificial sweetener. Just didn't like the taste of it. My mom uses Splenda all the time because she's a diabetic and I just would not have any of it because I couldn't stand the taste. Now Splenda is my go to sweetener. I use it everyday....especially in my coffee and tea. Don't really notice the taste anymore.

B: premier shake

B2: coffee w/Splenda and sugar free creamer

L: turkey and cheese roll up

D: salmon and Brussels sprouts

I think I will experiment with some chaffles this weekend. For Christmas my cousin got me a mini waffle maker. He said he started not to give it to me because he wasn't sure if I could eat waffles anymore. I told him maybe not waffles, but I can have chaffles!!! Of course I had to explain to him what they were! Lol

Oh, hope you are feeling better. Definitely talk to your doc, it sounds gallstoney to me but it's been 19 years since I had my gallbladder out.

i still am not the best veggie eater, I like asparagus so that my usual option if I have to have a veggie but I can say the same about my SF coffee syrups as you! Pre op I would be very specific in my latte order, skim milk but regular syrup...now I have all the SF syrups, lol

Yes, feeling much better thank you! It was just an all day thing and by Tuesday the pain was gone thank goodness. I'm really hoping it's not gallstones. I know my mom had them several years ago and had to have her gallbladder removed. I'm just not prepared for another surgery right now no matter how minor it may be. I'm a big chicken when it comes to surgeries. Lol

Oh yes I love the sugar free lattes at Starbucks now. I've been ordering just the regular coffee and adding my own Splenda and creamer, but my newest addiction is the sugar free cinnamon dolce lattes and the sugar free vanilla lattes with skim milk and no whip. However, I always feel so guilty when I drink them because they taste soooo good! Feels like I'm drinking something bad for me and loaded with calories so I only order them every once in awhile! Lol

Chaffle maker how cool. He nailed that gift and didn't even know it. I am using my old large waffle iron till it burns out I'm too frugal to buy a new one just for size. Maybe i'll make enough chaffles i'll burn it up.

Mornin'!

I'm meeting with my ward & her hospice team this morning. I was considering going to the weight room at the gym either before or after, but it's six degrees outside. Six. Good Lord. It's supposed to get up to a blistering 15 this afternoon. Maybe I should wait 'til then, or just wait 'til tomorrow morning. It's supposed to be a lot warmer tomorrow - but a major snow storm is predicted to come in in the afternoon. Still, I should have time in the morning to make a quick run over there...

QOTD: I eat more processed food since having surgery than I ever have before - like sugar free pudding, protein bars, things with artificial sweeteners, various prepared things that are nuked. As far as likes/dislikes, I don't know that my tastes have changed very much other than right after surgery I noticed that some foods tasted more intense (for lack of a better word). Sweeter things tasted sweeter - spicy things tasted spicier. Not sure if that was a fleeting thing or if I just got used to it. At any rate, I don't notice it anymore.

4 years 7 months out:

B: protein pancakes topped with plain Greek yogurt, diced cooked apples, and SF syrup, coffee with half & half

L: chicken breast with avocado on a FlatOut Fold It

AS: probably L&F yogurt and/or raw veggies with hummus or ranch Greek yogurt dip

D: meeting my MIL at a Mexican place. Probably the usual two authentic tacos (i.e., those small things with just meat, onion, and cilantro)

ex: if I'm up for braving the cold, then weights. And probably the stationary bike afterward.

I've lived in Wisconsin for over 30 years, but the cold still kills me! Although most of the winters we've had the past 10 years or so haven't been that bad - not like they were when I first moved here (with a couple of exceptions, of course!)
