Hormone dumping/ mood swings?

Hi everyone,

I wonder if folks have dealt with hormone dumping and mood swings way after surgery... I'm about 18 months out and it's quite rough right now. High highs and low lows. Nothing that would cause me to do any self harm, but it's pretty exhausting and I miss being my "normal" self.

I'm going to be seeing a counselor starting tomorrow, so perhaps that will help. But I am wondering about temporary meds or something like that.

I am so sorry you are going through some issues. For me, I experienced the mood swings and hormone dumping in about months 4-6 when I was dropping weight quickly. It is great that you are reaching out for help and guidance. You are worth it.

Seeing a mental health pro is the best thing I did for myself. The roller coaster of emotions experienced was mind-boggling. Me, personally, I wanted to try and talk about what was going through my mind vs trying to take meds. Attending support groups as well really helped talk about what was going on and finding out that I wasn't the only one was really comforting.

And you know what? sometimes it was the outside world messing with me and I was legitimate in how I responded to it.

How old are you? Hard to tell from your picture. No chance you could be peri/menopausal?

Sorry to hear you are going through a hard time right now. In the past, I have taken St. John's Wort and found that to be helpful.
