Keep in mind they can use one vial of blood for numerous tests, not just one test per vial!
There sure can. But I looked at my last complete set of lab work, and they tested 103 separate items with 15 vials of blood. All of those aren't necessary every time, especially only a few months after surgery. But 4 vials is the basic number for a yearly physical for a young, healthy person. It doesn't scratch the surface for someone several years out from bariatric surgery.
Everyone should remember to have a dexa bone density scan, right before surgery, for a baseline, and every 2 years after. It is the ONK Y way to test bone health. The calcium test on lab work checks blood, not bone. Blood calcium can be fine, but we can still have major none issues.
