Good morning all. Hilary, I am sorry to hear about your husband. That is so scary. Randomly, my stepdad recently had something similar happen. He was walking and suddenly couldn't make his legs work. He spent 3 days in the hospital and had scans and MRIs and nope, it wasn't a stroke, and it seemed to be muscular as well. How scary.

QOTD: Not what I am currently doing!!! I am tackling a massive work project today and I blocked the time on my calendar to do this very thoughtful work, but it's gray and dreary and today is just ugh. If I wasn't doing this, I would like to be somewhere warm and get a 90-minute massage. Hmm, maybe I should book a massage now that I think about it...

B: Tuna mixed with mayo and onion, mini avocado mashed up with salt and pepper and crushed red pepper

L: I have some leftover AmyLu andouille chicken sausage, I may turn it into a pasta dish for Kris and have more sausage than pasta

D: sriracha soy chicken with rice (for Kris) and roasted veggies

Today is day 4 of the gym (I'm on a streak!). I am actually insanely sore but I am going to go do some weights - I can't fathom a class today (I did boot camp Sat, Zumba Sun and Body Pump last night)

Have a great day, everyone!

Ugh that is such a bummer because I have bought chicken sausages at Aldi, Whole Foods, Trader Joes...and HANDS DOWN the AmyLu from Costco are my fave fave fave. The Andouille is the best, IMO. https://www.amylufoods.com

But according to their website they have habanero and tequila!? Yum!

They are apparently at quite a few stores, but based in Chicago: https://www.amylufoods.com/about-atk-foods/where-to-find

I will harass my local Costco and Whole Foods some more. It worked when I couldn't find the egg bites!

Running behind this morning but Miss Lily and I did manage to get our 3.7 miles in and will do more later. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.2 today. QOTD be camping somewhere warm near water and sunny. I'm so tired of gloomy winter days. I never get warm and the lack of sun makes me depressed which then makes me want to eat because that's what I do. So I knit instead--I've made 20 baby sweaters for the distribution center so far this winter. I can't eat if both my hands are busy so there you have the key to my success. Here's the food plan for today 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and cashew butter L 4 oz baked salmon D 4oz pork tenderloin S if needed L&F yogurt shared with Miss Lily of course. Have a wonderful day full of smart choices everyone!

OMG, poor DH! Hope he continues to heal up quickly--that's so scary!

I have a few minutes to check in today because my first two meetings were relatively easy, and one ended really early. The one this afternoon is going to be a nightmare, though. Like an actual nightmare. We have been joking that we will be here until midnight, but I am not actually sure if it is a joke or not. It's a very complicated school, and they are making some very significant cuts to staffing positions. Additionally, some of the people in the room are "non-linear thinkers" so decisions might not follow a straight path. I am pretty nervous about this. There are enormous legal ramifications if I miss anything...

Accountability: I had a hard seltzer last night when I came home, but that was my only indiscretion, and I don't feel badly about it at all. Might do the same tonight.. Oh, and I lost a pound this morning! Win!

QOTD: Right now I would love to be up in Maine in one of my favorite coastal towns, walking around, shopping, eating seafood, and pretending it is summer :)

EATS (I overpacked low carb foods today to help keep me less tempted to hit the granola bars and candy all over the table in front of me. Hopefully I won't actually eat all of it, haha):

  • Protein Coffee & Egg Bites
  • Jalapeño Tuna with 1% Cottage Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese Whisps
  • Babybel Cheese & Roasted Almonds
  • Pork Rinds
  • Dinner is TBD again... totally depends on when I get home. Maybe some Real Good Pepperoni bites?

A neighbor called one day and asked me to come to his house. He was in his 60's and lives alone. When I knocked on the door, he yelled to come in. He was lying on the couch in a lot of pain. I called 911 and they put him on a stretcher and took him to the hospital in an ambulance.

It was muscle cramps. He had been working in the hot sun and not drinking enough water. He knows now to stay hydrated. It is a scary experience. Glad your hubby is OK.

G'morning everybody!

Late posting, it's still morning in CA while for most of you half the day is gone.

May I be allowed a moment of whining? Since WLS I've been "on it" and rarely going off track. Maybe for a meal or two but generally following the rules. That's almost 2.5 years. Admittedly, this holiday season I went off track and boy the consequences are severe. My body is acting like I haven't run in 2 years and not 2 months. I can barely finish 3 miles while I remember when we had the Oct move challenge I was easily doing 5-6 miles and certain days just because Kelly was adding to her miles I was adding too just because I'm competitive. And it was no big deal. Now I'm huffing and puffing for 3 miles and the rest of the day my legs are so sore that when I get up I'm limping. Maybe it's just old age?
One more thing - sugar withdrawal. Holy moly, the headaches. Once again, hadn't had a major headache since surgery but the last 2-3 days it's been brutal.

QOTD:I would tele transport myself to the end of school year. DS is testing my patience and I can't wait for this year to be over.

My meals yesterday:

  • Coffee + protein
  • Costco chicken skewers
  • Parm cheese
  • Shredded pork

Have a great rest of the day, everybody.
