Good Morning Hilary and Menuers,

Wow how scarey hope he is feeling better soon. Sorry this had to happen.

I went to my support group last night. Last November the lady who headed it up resigned because she was no longer working for the practice and felt not knowing the new patients did not benefit them. Plus she was driving over and hour and a half from home to get to us. So last night the dietician (non-surgery) ran the meeting. Wow First of all I know because I have been there her BMI has to qualify her for surgery and she said she does not go to the gym because she is intimidated. What kinda message is that? Then she hands out food choices for people after they hit goal. I could never see me eating a piece of whole grain bread or sandwich thins even as a cheat. (I did hear Aldi now has a carb free bread) not available in my area yet. Anybody see it out there yet? Oh well at least they will be changing up the support leader so we won't have to hear stupid suggestions every support group. We have Post ops 8 and 9 years out that still come.

QOTD: I would be a contestant on the Price is right. It has been a lifelong goal. Been to a few tapings when Bob Barker was the host but never got to come on down.

Accountability: I thought I did good eating but the scale said otherwise my portions must have been to big.

TSS: 2 years 1 Month 3 days 133.4 (lowest 130.8)

CB: Dark roast coffee with and SF Adi Hazelnut creamer w/Miralax and Fiber

MS L&F Creme brulee yogurt and Caramel nut elevation bar.

L: Left over crock pot Pizza

D: Lemon Chicken

Water and vitamins: On track. I take a one a day multivitamin I use bariatric advantage Calcium chews and my blood work has been good. My B12 has been High so I cut my sublingual to every 3rd or 4th day.

Exercise: 30 minute elliptical

Everybody have a great day!

Brightest Blessings,

Chrissy

Oh jeez... All of the dietitians I have ever had are under 30, weigh about 95 lbs and push English muffins and oatmeal on post-ops like they they are part of a carb lobbying group! I think that despite their schooling, they don't really understand the differences in our bodies and how it is different from the healthy diet of someone who hasn't had surgery, because Have never seen a post op diet plan that looks anything like what I need to eat to keep weight off.

  • High Weight before LapBand: 200 (2008)
  • High Weight before RNY: 160 (2015)
  • Lowest post-op weight: 110 (2016)
  • Maintenance Weight: 120 (2017-2019)
  • Battling Regain Weight: 135 (current)

totally late to the party here, and I think I've told this story before but after my revision, my surgeon wanted me to go to the first post op class "because a refresher never hurts." His dietitan was on maternity leave so someone from the hospital was filling in. She contradicted the practices position on supplements and snacks and recomended hummus as a good option. One of the new post ops raised his hand and asked what he could have with his hummus . . . like a delivery vehicle. I was thinking "a spoon?" She told him to take corn tortillas, cut them in quarters and bake them. No reference to serving size, etc. At that point I pulled out my phone and texted my surgeon, told him what was going on and that I was leaving. Not 2 minutes later he walked into the room. She cleaned up her act, but by then the damage was done. Who in their right mind tells new post ops to eat tortilla chips with abandon???

Mornin' All!

I am so sorry to hear about your husband, Hillary - YIKES!!! I hope he's OK!!

I'm going to a lecture later on this morning (10:00-noon) and then I have Mah Jongg all afternoon. I kind of wish I had more free time today to get some other stuff done, but then I've had several days with loads of free time and haven't managed to get this "other stuff" done, so.... It is nice to have a busy day once in awhile, though. It gets me out of the house, for one thing.

accountability continues to be good. I took the day off yesterday as far as exercise goes, so I'll do something today. Probably weights since I'm aiming for 2-3x a week, and it's time...

QOTD: I'd either do the lecture OR the Mah Jongg (not both) and spend some extra time at the gym

4 years 7 months out:

B: plain Greek yogurt with berries, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: something with turkey - either on a salad (with light dressing) or on a Flat Out FoldIt

AS: maybe a piece of crustless protein pumpkin pie with light Cool Whip

D: chili

have a great day, everyone!!

Good morning!

Glad your husband is ok, that is super scary!

QOTD - Honestly, if I could do anything... I would like a day at home, alone. I would stay in bed, with my four dogs cuddled and have a Twilight marathon.

Breakfast - none, just black coffee, fasting until noon

Lunch - Plant based chipotle bowl, fresh beans, cornbread slice, avocado butter

Snack - Small peppers, tomatoes, and a marshmallow crispy treat

Dinner - Torchy's tacos with friends. Most likely a fried avocado taco on corn, no sour cream, no cheese.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Christina

Let it begin with me.

Oh my gosh, that is way too much stress! I am glad your hubby was with you in Tennessee if something like that had to happen -- and "glad" it's muscular not neuro (glad is a strange word by I hope you know what I mean!

i started to drive to work today and my tire pressure alert came on, so I pulled over and reset it (sometimes it triggers with a tempeture change) but it came on again about 3 miles down the road so I turned around and now I'm working at home and heading to the tire place when they open.

qotd - I would spend the day hanging out with my sister (if teleporting was an option); if not, I would go to Pilates, get a massage and see a movie.

menu today - I have had a lot of coffee this morning! I'm switching to tea and water now.

b - chobani and a chomps (jalapeño)

l - 4 oz ever roast deli chicken and .8 oz cheese slice

dinner - light and fit greek and a cheese stick

snack - built bar

ex - Pilates jump class tonight and 30 min on elliptical

have a great day everyone!
