What's on your (Monday) menu, RNYers?
G'morning Lovelies!!!
Missed you all! Hope y'all had a great holiday and start of new year.
I think my last post was right before Xmas and I missed you guys. It was too hectic around here for me to have a sec. First with the holidays, even though we didn't go anywhere, we had day trips up and down the coast all throughout the holidays. After the holidays just the fact that DD was home gave a total different energy to the house and we were constantly busy. She went back to DC for her last semester on Sat. DS starts his last semester at high school on Tue and we are back to usual routine.
Most importantly my food routine goes back to normal. Eating out twice a day for such a long period of time is not easy on the scale! On top of that this holiday season I went back to my old friend/nemesis - sweets! I "learned" how to avoid dumping. Instead of eating a whole cookie I graze on a cookie, end up with three cookies at the end of the day anyway and not good for my accountability. So now that all the goodies are gone and I'm not baking anymore that should be a no brainer.
Aaaand, not going to the gym at all during the holidays I'm sure didn't help either. I looked at my calendar, my last run was Nov 28, and my last gym session was Dec 7. Remedied that this weekend. Saw my trainer on Sat and told her not to let me cancel any more session in the future. I also did a short 3 miles run yesterday just to get myself back into the groove. Sore as heck this morning, but that's the price I pay for not doing anything for a month and a half.
I am on the high end of my allotted range (140-145), so for the forceable future my menu will be shredded pork, tuna and eggs. Hoping I can get rid of the holiday pounds by mid Feb and be back in my my comfortable range of 140-142.
QOTD: no routine. I sleep like the dead. I put my head on the pillow and I'm gone. That's why I read on the couch or the rocking chair. Bcz in bed I'd be gone in 5 minutes.
My meals yesterday:
- Coffee + protein
- Shredded pork
- Fage yogurt
- Tuna + hb eggs
It's good to be back with you guys!

I like the picture!
QOTD: my evening ritual is similar, in that I read in the evening before bed. I also have a regular bedtime snack, which is seaweed snacks from Costco. It keeps the craving for salty or sweet things in check with very few calories (and lots of nutrients!).
B tea, egg salad
L ham/cheese rollup
S shake
D wild salmon with quinoa
S seaweed snack
Water = lots
E out with the pup

No matter how late I go to bed, I have to read for at least a couple of pages; otherwise, I just never wind down.

I have exactly 2 minutes to post on my "lunch break". These meetings are hella stressful so far... The good news is that I have literally been shaking with fear for 6 hours straight, and that must burn calories, right? Plus I can't snack, so these meetings will be bad for my psyche but good for the waist line, I think...
Accountability: Woohoo. I did well this weekend and have not even been tempted to have any of the zillions of snacks on the meeting table today. Killing it.
QOTD: My fav thing about bedtime now is the routines that our kitties have self-imposed on us. Innie loves it when we are both in bed together, and he gleefully jumps in between us and gets 2 minutes or so of furious petting before he settles at our feet. And Fezzie, who considers himself my owner, shares a pillow with me and stays there until I am asleep. I really think he is putting me to bed. It's very cute.
Food: Egg bites; Jalapeño Tuna with cottage cheese; almonds if I need a snack, and dinner is TBD...
