What's on your (PHOTO FRIDAY) Menu, RNYers?
on 1/10/20 3:51 pm - Amarillo, TX
Thanks! I ended up being forgotten for over an hour. I did get some tramadol but it doesn't really do much for me but it is a bit better than Tylenol. My cane is my friend tonight from sitting on the hard chairs so long. (We did complain).
the pain management clinic finally at least acknowledged the fax but have yet to schedule me. They do have a neurosurgeon now on staff so that's a plus. Not so plus is that they've got a client from October still waiting for an appointment.
I've so frustrated that I've been in tears. I just want to give up. I'm tired.
Mel
Please don't give up!! I hope you get your appointment soon. Hugs!

Mornin' All!
Big snowstorm coming tonight (6-10" before the weekend is over - YIKES!), so like half the city, I'll be at the grocery store today (funny how everyone does this - they stock up like they're going to be snowbound for the next three weeks. This is Wisconsin, for God's sake - they'll have everything plowed out within a few hours after the storm ends (in this case, by Sunday afternoon)). In addition to grocery shopping, I have my film discussion group at 12:30, and I have to go to the weight room at the gym. I'm on a roll... I was going to go to yoga this morning but overslept, so I may just do it on my own. There are a ton of yoga classes on youtube, and I have all the equipment here (mats, blocks, straps, blankets...I'll just set up shop in the family room!)
Accountability was great yesterday - calorie intake was actually at the BOTTOM of my maintenance range (1500-1700) for the first time in awhile, I drank a ton of fluids, and I went to a WERQ class last night. Ta da! I was rewarded on the scale this morning, too. I need a repeat of that today - and most every day!
QOTD: I've had the same scale for years. I bought it when I was SMO because it goes up to 450 lbs (not that I ever weighed that much, but that's the typical limit on high-capacity weight scales). I've thought off and on about passing it on to an SMO friend and buying one that'll give me body fat percentages, but the scale is really accurate so I'm hesitant to give it up. I know a lot of them give you a different weight every time you step on - even a few minutes/seconds apart - and that would drive me insane. I'm not sure I need a WiFi enabled one - I record my weight in SparkPeople (my tracker) every Wednesday right after weighing myself (I weigh every day but only record it on Wednesdays), and I also record my weight once a month on my surgery day (the 3rd of every month) on an Excel spreadsheet.
4 years 7 months out:
B: the last piece of protein-enhanced Swedish cheesecake topped with light Cool Whip and homemade berry sauce, coffee with half & half
L: at the film discussion group. I'll either get the the turkey/avocado sandwich and eat half of it (with the raw veggie side) or the chicken quesadilla (and bring the beans & rice side home for DH)
AS: protein shake
D: a plant-based bratwurst (this is some new (for me) company. It's OK - but I like Beyond Meat co's a lot better).
ex: weights and yoga
have a great day, all!

Good luck with the snow! Would you believe it is supposed to be 66 degrees in Boston this weekend???
I am drooling...protein-enhanced cheesecake! YUM!

66? Wow - you guys are definitely NOT in this storm's path!!!
the cheesecake is the Swedish version, so it's different. They use cottage cheese instead of cream cheese, and there's no crust. They also use less sugar than we do (although I use Splenda instead). It doesn't really have a cheesecake-y taste (or at least not an American cheesecake-y taste), but you put almond extract in it, so it tastes almond-y. It's really grown on me...
Happy Fri-Yay everybody!
I dropped my daughter off at the airport this morning. When I got home I heard that her flight was cancelled and she had to re-book and is now being diverted through Minneapolis. It seems like she was able to handle it OK. She claims that she is more tired today than for any of the flights to or from Sydney. Probably her brothers keeping her awake.
This morning, we had a conference call for a non-profit that I serve on the Board for. Our Director is leaving and we will need to conduct a search for her replacement. I am disappointed because she was such a great Director. The move does seem good for her though. Hopefully we are able to find a strong replacement.
Today we are doing this workout called The Seven. It's a tough one. I will have to scale because I can't do handstand push-ups yet. But even scaled its an intimidator. Most likely I will go at 12:15 to get it out of the way.
QOTD: Just a regular scale.
Pictures are Australia and New Zealand. You can see the smoke from the bushfires in Australia.
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: stuffed pepper
snack: nuts
Dinner TBD
Have a great day, all!

Hello everybody,
QOTD: Just a regular scale
B Decaf tea, HB egg
S Cheese
L Ham and veggies
S Protein shake
D Salmon with quinoa
E Walking and strength training
I've been doing really good with vitamins, and my 6-month labwork results came back perfectly normal. As always, I need to drink more water but I think I'll be saying that for the rest of my life! My last weigh-in put my loss at 117 lbs, with only a pound and a half to go for onderland. So frustrating!
