It was called The Buddha in the Attic - it's not a novel, per se, but it starts with the list of all the stories why women came a mail order brides from Japan and then follows them through their lives, until they are moved to camps after Pearl Harbor. It's beautifully written and I felt a connection to it because I remember my grandma's stories of coming to the US via ship after the war and we had a large Japanese population in the town I grew up in, because they settled here after they were released from the Colorado internment camps.

i would recommend it -- and it's only about 150 pages.

Hi all- guess what - I actually have pics today! they are of my dog itty bitty at work today. I put him in my drawer. I'm sitting here working trying to get him to lay down and sleep. he is being wiggly right now and wont lay down. I'm going to take him home at lunch and come back since I have an in person meeting at 2 pm and I don't think bringing a dog to it would work well.

the other two are of the wreaths I made last weekend at home- the actually have all the same fillers in it but look so different. the darn brown wreath I got at the thrift store plain for .50 and decorated it. the gold one I got at end of Christmas sale for $2, so everything was $20 total! and I can leave them year round because they aren't Christmassy.

the last is the floor project from last weekend also. DH is laying the boards TODAY and the king size bed is coming TODAY thank goodness.

food went really well until later last night when I got into the dark chocolate. weight stayed same from yesterday.

food plan today
