Mornin' All!

I'm staying out in the Chicago suburbs - another follow-up with the plastic surgeon later on this morning (I'm guessing this will be the last one - too bad - I love the place! I might have to schedule another surgery just so I can keep coming back! (kidding, of course!)). They must have run out of rooms at this Hampton because we checked in around 6:00 and got upgraded (for no additional cost) to a suite. Love it!!!

eating was overall OK yesterday but I went over on calories (again) once we blew into town. We went to a Middle Eastern place nearby for dinner and split an entree (chicken shawarma over hummus (as opposed to over rice)) with a small side of hummus (OK - so we like hummus). Then we went back to this gynormous Indian grocery store that we drove by on the way here. What a fun place! We picked up a few things - and I ate two laddos when we got back to the hotel (these little sweetened chickpea flour balls that also have ground nuts in them). They were wonderful and probably pretty nutritious (not much sugar - and chickpeas and nuts are good) - but not exactly "diet food". And of course I got no exercise yesterday since we were in the car. So I need to do better today. The breakfast bar at the hotel has some decent choices (like yogurt - and small omelets)....but there's lunch. I do have some protein bars with me just in case...

QOTD: I don't like lamb. I've tried several times and it tastes too gamey to me (I also don't like really strong beef - maybe it's just strongly-tasting meats in general - YUCK!)

4 years 7 months out:

B: I may just have yogurt and fruit. Not really up for an omelet this morning. But coffee - a couple cups of that. With half & half.

AS: may take a thing of yogurt with me. They have some things of L&F here at the hotel. I also have some individual packs of nuts in my purse.

L: something safe. Barring that, a protein bar

D: We'll probably be home by then. I still have that lonely turkey burger in my freezer that I've had on my menu for several days. Maybe I'll finally eat that...

I'm with you on lamb. Also whole roasted turkey leftovers except on Thanksgiving and the very next day - after that I feel it also becomes too gamey.

JB, be sure you take care of yourself even amidst the craziness of work!

Last night was a **** show...we rented a truck from Home Depot and went to a nearby neighborhood because Kris got this ginormous home gym for $50...well jeez, while he and the man loosened bolts and dismantled it, somehow I ended up lugging each and every weight out of their basement and into the truck. When we got back to our house, I had to assist Kris in carrying this monstrosity! I crushed my hand and I am sore today. I told him, "that's the end of my help, feel free to hire some kid off Next Door to help you assemble that bad boy". This $50 investment is now $50 + $30 for the truck + $50 for an assembler...and jeez, the cost of having the movers deal with it when we move!!! Ugh, I hate this freaking thing lol.

QOTD: Not to be controversial...but...tomatoes! I HATE THEM! I can do thin and not chunky tomato sauce or salsa, but the chunks - seed - skin - pulp...UGH. Not a fan. And I know 98% of the world loves them. 98% of the freaking food in restaurants includes them. Yuck.

B: Half a bagel with cream cheese and smoked trout

L: Leftover andouille sausage, cut up mini peppers and cucumbers

D: Going out for Taco Thursday with a girlfriend. They sell single tacos so I usually get one shrimp, one fish, and skip the soft corn tortillas (they don't sit well with me)

E: Does lifting my coffee cup all morning count?

actually, I've known several tomato-haters! Unrelated, but I also know two people who hate cucumbers. If there was ever a food that a vast majority of humanity was completely indifferent to, it's cucumbers!

Cucumbers are basically water! I consider them a vehicle for getting ranch dip into my mouth. I am not sure I know any cucumber haters. I am glad to hear there are more tomato-haters out there. I feel less alone ;)

My experience with an in home gym is it will be used for a couple weeks and then it sits. My DH has done this to me 2x's now and as soon as he goes a week without and excuse for using it I post it and sell it. Just make sure you get your $50 back when you sell it. I feel for you sister.

Kris is actually freakishly dedicated...he works out 6 days a week, either doing the bench in the basement or going to our neighborhood gym. So I "think" he will use it - he damn well better because I lugged that stuff up and down so many stairs!!! lol

The woman in the house where it was sold thanked us for taking the "dust collector" off her hands ha ha.
