I think so too! I just want to make sure I have researched enough, and that they have a wonderful and comfortable place to live.

I'm Mary. I had RNY in 2007, lost all my weight and stayed about under goal until year 3. Then I started gaining, went back to Weigh****chers, got back under control and stayed effortlessly within five pounds of goal until 2016.

Last January I was almost 30 pounds over my goal and started Weigh****chers online. I lost 20 and quit again. I regained 10 of that and started Weigh****chers again on January 1.

I use a smart scale so know that the four pounds I dropped this week was water weight. I still have 15 pounds of real weight to drop and feel quite confident that I will be able to do that by the end of April.

I thought having weight loss surgery would be the end of dieting. It is just a tool but the best tool available.

My husband died in 2009 and I live alone with my cat.

I am a retired information security analyst. I work part time doing income taxes. That will start next week, and I anticipate being busy with that until May. Then I will spend the summer at the swimming pool and outside every minute possible. I live in Ohio, so the next few months will be cold. I absolutely love the first day of Spring, hearing the birds sing, and the return of daylight savings time.

Being on this site helps me to connect to people who understand about the surgery. Probably 50% of people who had weight loss surgery have had significant regain after ten years. I come to this site almost every day because I need to stay aware and keep learning.

Mary you are SO right about surgery not being the end of dieting. It is an amazing tool, but I have thought more about food and my "diet" after surgery than I ever did before.

Hi Jen and everyone!

I am Cynthia- native New Yawker - live on Long Island, but will gladly hop on a train to the Big Apple if I can. While my background is in Healthcare Management- I am currently working as a Store manager for GNC at our local Mall. I have never worked retail over the holidays- I survived. I kid I took the job to support my protein habit.

Came to OH 5.5 years ago when I had surgery. Do not think I would have been as successful without this place. I needed daily support and information. Here I saw people actually got to goal and maintained.

It is about a head transformation as well. I needed to accept that there was a range of normal and a goal weight wasn't a single number to constantly be chasing. I have been in maintenance and at goal for 4 years. First time in my life I have been normal. So weird sometimes.

Glad to be here.

Even though you read selhard, I sell absolutely nothing let alone sell it hard. My first name is Suzanne and last name Elhard. RNY surgery was in Park Rapids, Minnesota in 2012 with continuous support group attendance ever since. Three fears were complications, regain, or death; lucky to say only two of the three have happened. Part of why I had WLS was in preparation to add some peace to that third fear sure to happen to all of us. Complications have been a hernia, a bowel obstruction, and iron infusions. Weight loss after surgery was well over two hundred pounds. Regain held at twenty pounds the first five years but now is triple that. Peace has been the greatest outcome knowing I have done what my body, mind, and soul has been able and/or willing to do. No regrets.

I love your thoughts - peace can be very hard won but so amazing when it happens! Good for you!

Hi all! I am Kelly and live in Fresno, CA. I am about 5 1/2 years post op. I also had excess skin removal surgery almost 3 years ago (time sure does fly). I am a married mother of a high school sophomore that enjoys running and crocheting. I am a regular weekday poster on the menu thread and feel doing so helps keep me on track.
