Yes, the coffee maker is a given!!!

And I am enjoying the mini waffle maker, too, I just wi**** was a little easier to clean. I used to have an expensive, fancy Cuisinart machine that had removable inserts for a sandwich press or waffle maker and it was so easy to use and clean. I gave it up when I had my first surgery, thinking I would have no reason to use it again, but now I wish I had it for some of the fun Keto recipes. That was before Pinterest, of course...!

It is frightening to think of going back to the time when everything did not have a designated place and a cute label on each container. My P-touch labeler actually changed my life more than 20 years ago. I printed labels for everything. The bathroom medicine cabinet had labels for Mousse, Spray, Razor Blades, Aspirin, etc..

My desk organizer is still there with sections that I labeled Ruler, Stapler, Pencils, Tape, Clips, Rubber Bands.

My kitchen cabinets have containers with labels like: Tea, Baking, Jello, Tomato.

At one point I had separators in my closet like in department stores that I labeled: Shirts, Pants, Dresses, Coats.

I have a newer and fancier P-Touch and whenever I get into an organizing mood, it comes out first. When I worked and had spare time in the office, I would design color-coded filing systems and amuse myself with how fancy and efficient I could make a file system look.

I get so many ideas from Pinterest. I used to plan business trips to stay close to a Container Store and since there is none close to me I pay ridiculous amounts in shipping costs when I see an organizing product that I can't live without. My last project was organizing the bottom freezer drawer of the refrigerator. I did not make labels, but found containers that fit perfectly and keep like items together.

Pinterest lets me find people who are as obsessed as I am.

I just realized that the containers for Christmas decorations do not have labels. I might do that this week.

The trick is first you have to organize and declutter. Then decide what container will make the best storage for what is left. If you start with buying containers, you just end up with a container clutter collection. Also measure your items and space and buy what just fits perfectly.

That is a good idea! I will keep that in mind before my next Ikea trip as that is where I get most of that kind of thing.

Mornin' All!

I also joined the screw up club these last few weeks. Way too much holiday noshing. I'd lie in bed every morning feeling fat and horrible. ENOUGH! I have had ENOUGH! Back to the routine. The long weekend in Chicago this past weekend was pretty good (other than yesterday when I made a pit stop at a Nutella Cafe. But shockingly, my calorie consumption by the end of the day was still decent - amazing!!). I did a TON of walking and was mostly good food-wise. Hopefully this'll serve as a major reset. Plus, the holiday festivities are about over, which should make this a lot easier.

My brother's girlfriend arrives today. They'll both go home next weekend. They're staying at my mom's, thankfully, so I should be able to skip most of the restaurant eating that they'll probably be doing. I'll join them for other, non-eating activities.

I have a lot of errands to run today, plus water aerobics. DH is off this whole week, so hopefully we can do some fun things, too.

QOTD: my blender, followed by my Instant Pot. I'm very curious about air fryers, though - are they worth it? I was looking at mini waffle makers a few weeks ago, too, but haven't bought one yet.

4.5 years out:

B: protein pancakes topped with 1/2 C plain Greek yogurt and homemade apple/pear compote, coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: salad with diced turkey and light dressing

AS: crustless protein pumpkin pie or L&F yogurt with raspberries

D: 1/2 C dal and maybe a "reuben" (turkey pastrami, sauerkraut and light Thousand Island on a Flat Out FoldIt)

have a great day, everyone!
