trying to update my signature

I can't figure out how to change my signature and I have searched the archives. I am so embarrassed to ask for HELP ....but ... help?!

Click on the gear on the top right side of the screen, choose settings, then message boards.

No reason to be embarrassed!!

I keep looking there and I am not seeing message boards. That is what I am scratching my head about. (in utter frustration. It is probably right in front of me but I am not seeing it)
