we used to foster - but we ended up being what they call "foster failures". We ended up adopting several of our charges and had a houseful of animals before we decided we'd better give up the fostering! I'm grateful for foster parents like you. You're able to save a lot more animals that way!!

I have to ask you foster kitty parents something. Do you run into kitties that want to shred your curtains and furniture? I have a cat who has all kinds of scratching posts, but still will attack my furniture when she is in a mood.

we've been fortunate not to have that problem, although we've never let our cats go in the living room because there are too many breakable things in there - and we have jumpers - and one who likes to knock things off of tables and counters. (luckily we have an older house with a lot of interior doors, so closing off a room is easy. We do have a family room they can go into - we just don't have any breakables in there...)

Everybody misses the dearly departed at Christmas. There are so many memories associated with the holiday it's hard not too. Except for my Dad. LOL and if he were alive he would agree. He was the biggest scrooge. He believed Christmas was a big marketing scheme and he wanted nothing to do with it. Don't get me wrong as kids he did the whole santa thing but as soon as we got older the holidays were only about a good meal and nothing else. He would give us money because he refused to shop. The first year after he passed we changed all the things that he inforced for the holidays. Especially the dinner time. He would make us eat at 1:00 PM so we could graze and eat leftovers all day. We have dinner at 4:00 now. Granted I loved my Dad and I miss him dearly but more on the 4th of July and the First day of trout season. Hope the memories of your loved ones make you smile this holiday season. Telling this story made me smile.

My husband did not like to buy Christmas presents, but he was a gambler and bought the kids tons of scratch off lottery tickets. He just loved having a reason to buy more tickets.

Hi all

I feel you on the clothes part- omg was it not just super easy before the malabsorption stopped? do you think the super restricting is leading to riot binge? ive recently come off a strict program- didn't gain but didn't lose on it. now I'm trying to allow myself certain things to not be restrictive but stay under my macros for the day so I don't gain and lose. we will see.

my moms family Christmas and DH's fathers is today also. there is lasagna- salad and 900 desserts including cheesecake. I'm bringing a zucchini version.

we often have lasagna on Christmas, too. Feeds a crowd and easy to make ahead of time. I've made two before - one with less cheese, zucchini instead of noodles, and turkey sausage instead of pork sausage (for myself and other people watching their weight) - and one standard lasagna - but I decided to just do the standard one this year since I don't have the freezer space to divide and freeze the healthier one :-( So I'll just have to watch it (I did buy turkey sausage to put on it, though - and I won't go heavy on the cheese - so that might help. A bit...)
