What's on your Sunday Menu, RNYers?

Hiya, Weekend crew! Hope you all had a great Saturday. I had a fantastic time hanging with my niece all day yesterday. We had our hair done by my stylist and going there is always a bit of an adventure--a day in his salon with no editing would make an incredible reality TV series. Anyway, we had a blast, as always, and also got some great new 'dos :)
Today is my only real day off. Every other day off that I have this week also has some major holiday or wedding event, so today is my last day to get myself together and finish wrapping and stuff. I also need to do some holiday baking for a Christmas Eve event. I'm not sure what to bake/make...any ideas?
Accountability: Not as perfect as I'd been all week, but still good.
QOTD: What is your winter holiday season food weakness? I love peppermint, so all of the chocolate / peppermint flavored goodies are too much to resist some times.

Good morning!
seems like a day with little sleep, I took a tramadol and it helped with the pain but not so much with the sleep like it did last night. I can't stay still for to long before the pain starts.
we have some running around to do today & tomorrow. Not necessarily shopping but some business stuff and I'm hoping to get a copy of my MRI to take to my last PT appointment Thursday. We shall see if that's possible.
qotd: I'm with you JB...I love all things mint, esp peppermint. I also love love love gingerbread and cookies like peffenussen(sp?). My mom and me made oatmeal cookies yesterday and apparently I've got a weakness for those....LOL

Mornin' All!
we spent all afternoon yesterday trying to finish up Christmas shopping. MIL is done; I have one more thing to buy. Hopefully I can get it done today. I need to start wrapping (although most of this stuff I'll put in gift bags - way easier!) and do the four Christmas cards I typically send out (in response to ones I've received - mostly from older relatives who don't do Facebook or email). I also need to get started on Christmas Eve/Day cooking. I'm responsible for a red cabbage salad and a dessert for Christmas Eve dinner (I'm going to make a Swedish cheesecake for dessert - it's a Swedish-themed dinner) and lasagna for Christmas Day dinner. I'll make the tomato sauce for the lasagna today. I made cottage cheese last night for the Swedish cheesecake (they make theirs with cottage cheese instead of cream cheese). I guess that's probably all I'll really need to do at this point. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be much busier - at least cooking-wise.
JB - have you ever made biscotti? It's not that hard and is a crowd pleaser. There are piles of recipes online.
accountability was OK yesterday, and I did an hour of water aerobics plus a lot of walking around, but weight hasn't budged. Could have been the sushi from last night. I can't believe how much sodium there is in soy sauce. Good God. At least it's gone.
QOTD: I guess pumpkin spice things - although that's fall/winter in general, not just the holiday season.
4.5 years out:
B: protein pancakes with plain Greek yogurt and apple/pear compote, coffee with half & half
MS: protein shake
L: salad with diced turkey and light dressing
AS: crustless protein pumpkin pie or raw veggies with hummus (or L&F yogurt)
D: pulled pork and veggies (??)
ex: either land Zumba or Aqua Zumba, plus yoga
have a great day, all!
Good morning! I've missed you all! Things have been hectic lately. We bought a house and will be moving in 2 weeks, so when I'm not working I've been packing and organizing.
At work I've been selected as a virtual mentor for interns in the San Francisco office, which has been super fun. I video-chat with my mentees each week and review their progress.
Last night was our company holiday party with an "apres ski" theme. It was nice because it was less formal than our normal holiday parties tend to be, and I wouldn't have been in the mood this year to get super dolled up.
Today we are taking a break from moving chores to see the new Star Wars movie with my brother who is flying in today for the holidays.
qotd: I make homemade caramels and I have to put them in a cupboard so they're out of sight/out of mind! I also love snickerdoodles and molasses cookies.
menu today is coffee then I'll likely order something at the movie (at the Alamo) for lunch. My go-to there is the chicken ricotta meatballs. Teriyaki chicken in the crock pot for dinner.

Good morning menu friends! Miss Lily and I have our 3.3 miles in already and will do another mile after supper too. Accountability was spot on food and stepwise yesterday and weight is 120.4 today. QOTD any and all baked sweets. That's why I can't bake sweets--i have no control when it comes to them. Today I have laundry to do and some more sorting and emptying of boxes from the camper. Here's the food plan for the day B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 3/4 c loaded potato soup D 4 oz grilled shrimp S if needed L&F yogurt shared with Miss Lily. Have a wonderful day!
Good morning all! I was in absolute heaven yesterday! Finally got to meet my best friends newborn baby girl and she is just the most precious little thing!!! Got to hold her, get some snuggles and feed her a bottle. Now I think I'll take about 5 of those for Christmas! Lol. I told her if she and her husband ever need a night out I'd be more than happy to babysit. She said she will definitely take me up on that offer! Lol I have a weakness for babies....can ya tell? Haha
QOTD: anything sweet! I have such a sweet tooth and every year we have our big family Christmas Eve party with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. Everyone brings food! It's all heavy hors d'oeuvres and all kinds of sweets and desserts! I'm so afraid about going this year because I know I'm going to be tempted! My plan is to fill up on something healthy before I go and that way I'll be too full to eat much of anything. That's my hope at least! Lol. Eggnog is also my weakness and my mom had some the other day and I gave in and tried a little bit. Well it did NOT agree with me and let's just say I will be staying away from any eggnog in the future!
B: premier shake
B2: coffee w/Splenda and sugar free creamer
L: something light like a L&F yogurt and banana since my eating wasn't the best yesterday.
D: I'm still working on leftovers in the fridge
Surgery: RNY on 1/23/19
I have 11 years experience eating on holidays post op WLS.
My focus are dense proteins. I ask hosts what food they plan to have, and if there is not much just proteins, I bring a large dish to share with everyone. Baked pork loin, ham, shrimps - all of them are always greatly received and I made sure I get a heaping plate of proteins to snack at all time I'm there. I may add a little of some vegetables, but not much. Once I get enough great proteins in me, I can't eat anything else. I know. I tried first couple of years, and I did not like how that made me feel. The key is to make sure the proteins are something I really like and I have some condiments with that (my favorite is horseradish sauce by Boars Head. A little of that put on my meat or on my plate goes a long way. Once I eat enough proteins, I may give myself a permission to have a bite - literally a bite of some starches or desserts. But often - I really don't want to. Not drinking with the meal is a key. Not drinking any alcohol is a major key. Because any alcohol opens up my pouch to receive more and more. Drinking alcohol can create a bottomless pit.
Enjoy you time together with family and friends !
