What's on your Wednesday Menu, RNYers?
You will literally make back your $60 annual fee in one trip. Even if you somehow manage to avoid the incredible prices on random things like clothes, cell phone charging mats, etc...if you just buy the things you use everyday in bulk (like toilet paper, k-cups, paper towel, half and half, body lotion, peanut butter, etc), they have literally the most insane prices. Not to mention their huge and juicy $4.99 rotisserie chickens. We actually pay for the executive membership which is $120 and you get 2% of what you spend back. If you don't earn back the $60 price difference, they refund you. I am a Costco fan, if you can't tell! It's soooo worth it. I have a giant list for my Monday Costco trip - gearing up for crowds, even though they do manage the lines and crowds pretty well!

As a singleton, I do find it useful for all the staples (TP, nuts, miralax) and although everything comes in giant packages a lot of things are proportioned -- so while it's 32 egg bites, they are in packs of 2. The things that aren't proportioned (sausages) come in two packs of 6 or 8 so easy to portion. I also got a cute cute mid weight coat and my printer, other stuff like that there. My aunt and uncle also used their travel planning and car buying services but I haven't.

non-members can buy prescriptions at their pharmacy (although I think there's like a 5% upcharge for non-members for prescriptions), but otherwise, no.
You can go into the store with a member as their guest, but you technically aren't allowed to buy anything. At one time ours was only checking memberships at the door, not at the cash register, so I used to be able to go in there with a member and buy things, but I can't anymore because now they check your membership card at the cash register, too.
At the one in DC, people off the street have to be allowed to come in and eat at their food court area and someone told me people have to be allowed to buy alcohol. But non-members can't buy anything else.
I am a Costco-aholic.
And side note, they sent me a notice a few weeks ago saying if I re-enroll online, they will send me a $20 gift card - it arrived yesterday!
Yay, JB...I am so glad you can take some time off next week! It's so pointless to commute into work when there is nothing happening. I don't have time off, per se, but since we have unlimited vacation and I have almost no meetings, I will be around if someone needs me, but certainly not logging in and sitting in my home office everyday! So yeah, I am pretty much off starting Friday until the 2nd. Kris' parents and sister are coming and we have the kids so we will have a full house of 8 for a week and a half!
QOTD: YES, I adore my boss. She is unbelievably supportive. She is the one who interviewed me yesterday for an internal promotion. I think it went well and I should know in the next two weeks. I am actually fine either way since I work with the other internal candidate and she's fab.
B: 2 oz boars head chicken, 1 oz munster, 90 calories guacamole cup from Costco (not as good as fresh avocado but I am literally sick of opening up brown avocados)
L: Possibly a sandwich from Jersey Mikes, half the bread
D: Italian turkey burgers, plus some side for Kris
E: I was supposed to go on an hour long walk with my neighbor this morning but she had to cancel. So maybe nothing?
Have a great day!
QOTD- My boss is OK, he scares me at times he blows up and then gets over it, and sometimes shares too much. He is really smart and knows a lot, but not all of my job. As a contractor I was promised a permanent job after 6 months if I did well. At 6 months they froze all new positions and laid off many managers. And my boss left after that. Since the company is being sold I'm hoping they will open up some permanent positions, but I have no idea if it will happen. With no PTO, benefits or even direct deposit if I can't get a permanent job I need to look for something else. I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck and desperately need a vacation. Sorry more than the answer to the QOTD.
Accountability- some ruffles and sour cream with Lipton onion soup mix happened. Actually I made the choice to have them, so I can't say it just happened.
I love Costco but as there is only me, and now a roommate both of us have had RNY so the volume is sometimes too much. I buy most of my seafood there and vacuum seal and freeze it. There are great buys on tons of things. They had 2 pair of either bottoms or top 32 Degree long underwear for $11.99, I should have bought 2 instead of 1. I wear them most days, as I just can't stay warm enough in the office.
I was up at 4AM and by 6AM I was ready to go back to sleep. It was really hard to get up and go into work. I need more coffee.
Have a great hump day everyone!

Good morning --- great news on the surprise vacation option! Its tough being the only one working over some of those holidays -- i get frustrated when I can't reach people to get stuff done!
QOTD - I do like my boss. He's tough but smart, fair and challenging.
Accountability - on track yesterday but it seems like it was so long ago, lol
Menu today - coffee + half and half X 3; then all the hot tea I can drink - I'm freezing today.
B - cottage cheese
L - ever roast deli chicken plus a parmesan square
D - TBD
MS - power crunch bar
ES - light and fit greek
Ex - made it to cardio pilates at 5 am this morning; would like to get 30 minutes on the elliptical but I have too many meetings today...and I would also like to get a mani pedi so I know which will win.
Have a great day everyone!

Howdy everyone.
qotd: I'm on disability so no current boss. In the past they have sucked but it was a movie theater and the avenue clothing store...
i'm feeling ok today...not great but ok. I'm going to try homeopathic pain relief stuff tonight and hopefully I can sleep. I haven't been sleeping and the anxiety of everything happening...well it's made it all seem worse. I need to reel in my eating. My mom bought a bunch of peanut brittle from Sam's along with chips...oh and artichoke & spinach dip. I've been grazing a lot. It sure ads up. I'm so embarrassed by my lack of control. I'm a stress eater more than anything else and I've sure been doing it!
we are having Mexican food for Christmas. I'm ok with it as my mom really wanted roast too...that's not my thing really. Thankfully I don't have to make many desserts as we got a cheesecake sampler at Sam's too. It'll be a pretty easy prep and cooking.
i hope all are having a good week.
