Good morning menu friends from the snowy cornfields of Illinois! We got another 1/2 inch of snow overnight so probably a total of about 4.5 inches. I got a pair of leopard print galoshes last night for walks. Miss Lily and I did 4 short walks around the property here yesterday. Hopefully today we can get a long walk in after work at 4. Last night we had to run to the store and it was dark when we got back. I'm just not brave enough to walk when I can't see the ice. I'm way too clumsy for that! Accountability was good even though we went to Pizza Ranch for supper. I had 2 half pieces of pizza and 2 spoons of cottage cheese with 2 mandarin slices for dessert and no bedtime snack so it balanced out fine. Weight today is 120. Here's the food plan for the day B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter L 3/4 c chili with cheese D 4 oz piece of mahi mahi S if needed smart pop popcorn shared with Miss Lily of course. QOTD nope. Rarely sit and watch anything. Baby Yoda is cute though! Time for coffee and to get moving. Have a great day full of smart and healthy choices everyone!
Good morning everybody!
I made DD's last tuition payment yesterday. I would be super excited about that except for the fact that I have two kids more to go. At least one is done.
I am hoping that today is moving day for a number of things that need to get done before Christmas break. Because I can say "four days until break" until I am blue in the face, but I'm just working from home until the 5 things that are in process get resolved.
We haven't been watching the Mandalorian because we don't have Disney+. Marilyn is a big Star Wars person and actually has a small tree decorated entirely with Star Wars ornaments.
QOTD: I have seen all of the movies and enjoyed watching most of them, but I do not have an extensive knowledge of the cannon.
Breakfast: chili
Snack: protein bar
Lunch: Fresh bowl
snack: Jerky
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

Hah! We did too, last tuition. Until summer when we start with DS (at least that's the hope). I was actually hoping for DD to go directly to grad school but she says she wants to work for a year or two before going back to school. I'm worried once she really starts working she might not wanna go back.
I need to compare notes with Marylin, our Xmas tree is SW too.

Just my 2 cents but I've spent a lot of my career working with "just graduated from college" 20-somethings and as an employer... I MUCH prefer a person with some work experience between college and grad school. The kids who had been in school straight through tended to be quite entitled about walking into the job with a masters but they didn't have the experience and skills to back up the degrees. I'm sure every field is different, but that's been my experience.

Good to know. Thanks for that perspective.

I was afraid of that with my first master's, so I went straight through. But then I changed careers and got my second one when I was in my 30s. I worked pretty much the whole time I was working on my second one because I didn't want to give up the income - so it was tough going for awhile. Not sure how I'd do it if I had to do it again.
