Dahlonega means "gold" in Cherokee (also yellow, orange - the whole golden spectrum).

Hi All!

I have lunch out with a friend today and then have to pick up a cake for DH's birthday party tomorrow night (just a family thing - but we're having it at my MIL's apartment complex's community room). I need to exercise - probably another long walk, at minimum, since it'll be in the 40s again today - and much colder temps are on their way! Nothing else planned - but it might be a good idea to spend an hour or so on this house. It needs a lot more than an hour, but that would at least be a good start!

Accountability was good yesterday, but I'm up 1.5 lbs this morning. It might be from the breakfast burrito I had (I met a neighbor for breakfast). I only ate half of it and skipped the hash browns, and calorie-wise I was OK for the day - but the breakfast burrito had ham and cheese on it in addition to the egg and veggies, and ham, especially, is loaded with salt. My lunch meeting today is at a Mexican place. I'll get my usual authentic taco, although that's probably high in sodium as well. Yikes. Well, at least any weight gain is mostly water. I"ll really push the fluids today to try to offset it. AND stay within my calorie range again.

QOTD: we have a couple of annual music festivals - Jazz Fest and Blues Fest. And there's "Taste of Madison". And "Cows on the Concourse" (I've never been to any of these - I hate crowds!). There's also a big outdoor art fair every summer. And the county fair in July. I know I'm forgetting some other ones..

4+ years out:

B: Greek yogurt with 1/2 a mango (diced), coffee with half & half

MS: protein shake

L: either two tacos (those small authentic ones with just meat, onion, and cilantro) or one taco with a side of beans

AS: if needed, L&F yogurt - or a piece of crustless protein pumpkin pie

D: maybe just cottage cheese. I'll let DH finish up the turkey! Or else I'll have a salad with diced turkey on it.

have a great day, everyone!

Have such a fun day!! I really need a cheese festival in my life!!

qotd - not really, we do have a couple of old homesteads that do "Pioneer Day" things and my home town has the SE county fair every August but I haven't been in years (it's the SE area of the county because the county itself is 3x larger than Rhode Island and has 1/4th of the population, lol). Colorado is a big state!

today I will do some beginner workouts on my new equipment. They have a ton of videos and yesterday I walked among the penguin colonies in Antarctica so this will be a fun way to get some more exercise. I am hoping they have something like the climb to the top of St. Paul's or other vertical things so I can really use the stepper function.

on track yesterday for fluid and menu!

3x coffee and half and half

4.1 oz ever roast and .8 oz cheese

1 oz hazel nuts and cheese stick

cottage cheese

light and fit x 2

have a great Thursday everyone!

Can I see your equipment please? I'm dying to see what it looks like. I even googled stepper/elliptical/treadmill to see what it is but I'm not sure I found it.

Of course! It's this one - the difference from what I read is that by having the fly wheel in the center, they can suspend the "feet/pedals" so they move vertically and in the typical elliptical motion. To switch between the two, I just change my motion so stride for the elliptical/treadmill action and then step down for the stepper, if that makes sense. It's the Nordic track FS7 if you want to see it in action.

I've recently started using the elliptical at the gym because I found running was giving me low back spasms and I was worried about the impact. I think I need one of these in my life!!!!

G'morning JB & Menu family,

Julia - the cheese parade sounds so much fun. I didn't realize they ship the cheese all the way from Italy. Have fun, enjoy the cheese and take tons of pics.

Hoping for some break from the rain, because mudslides are no fun. They even had to redirect a natural river near the beach because it had so much water that it made an S and was coming back inland instead of going into the ocean.

QOTD: we have the shortest 4th of July parade, we also have the art and wine festival, and the sand castle competition. Oh, we also have the begonia festival. Typical small coastal town stuff.

My meals yesterday:

  • coffee, coffee, and more coffee with PP as creamer
  • L: in-n-out protein style burger
  • S: Epic chicken + Greek yogurt
  • D: Stir fry cauliflower rice and eggs (Chinese fried rice)

Have a great jr Fri-yay!!!

Good morning JB and Menuers,

I saw the pelvic Therapist yesterday and she signed me up for about 30 rounds of therapy says my hips are out of line and what not so here i go. I still do not think what she has in store will stop the tailbone pain but I got good insurance and it will not cost me much out of pocket. The main problem is I can not due any exercise that engages my core do to the February Hernia surgery. So only time will tell.

QOTD: My town is a party town we have 3 huge events every year. We have an annual 4th of July parade and celebration. We have a population of around 9,000 and for each of these events over 50,000-60,000 attend. In September they have an Octoberfest that has all kind of vendor rides and beer and this weekend is the Canonsburg's old fashioned Christmas Sponsored by the Hallmark channel. Someone sent a letter to Hallmark and said our town mimicked the towns in there Christmas movies so this is year 2 of the celebration. They provide the huge tree in the middle of town and all the business decorate it's very festive.

Ron and I are going to wear our Halloween costumes all weekend. Were going to Stuff a bus tonight a local Radio station lives in a mall parking lot and collect toys for the Marines toys for tot program. They have already stuffed 36 buses but tonight's the last night so I am sure it will be crazy . Last year they did 60 buses so between now and 10:00 am tomorrow morning I am sure they will fill at least 30 more.

Tomorrow we will do the old fashioned Christmas and Saturday we will go to a good friends huge Christmas party he usually has about 200 guest and it is a party fest. The invitation clearly states NO Facebook Post Permitted. So you can only imagine how wild it gets.

Accountability. My appointment started sooner and ran longer than I thought. We ate out I had a piece of quesadilla and Cajun Shrimp and Grits. And Again I didn't go to they gym have not been there since 11-26-19.

TSS: 1 year 11 months 24 days 134.4 ( No idea why I am still losing I thought it would have stopped by now. )

CB: Dark roast coffee with and SF pumpkin spice creamer with miralax and fiber

MS Steel cut overnight oats and blueberries and L&F pumpkin pie yogurt

L: Left over shrimp and grits

D: Eating out again

Exercise: Not today it's stuff a bus.

Everybody have a great day.

Brightest Blessings,

Chrissy
